    For Question 16
V.S Naipaul got the booker award for "In a free state" in 1971 well before Salman Rushdie,if Naipaul of indo-trinidadian is not considered as Indian how can Rushdie(British) be consider as first indian
    Pls clarify…………..

With ref to the above query I found the foll on wiki
'Rushdie was born in Mumbai (formerly Bombay under British colonialism), India.[4][5] He was educated at Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai, Rugby School, and King's College, Cambridge, where he studied history. He worked for two advertising agencies (Ogilvy & Mather and Ayer Barker) before becoming a full-time writer.[6]'

    Hope this settles the query.
