This is India’s first medal in 15 years at this championship in the women’s singles event. Anahat is the first Indian girl since Dipika Pallikal in 2010 to win a medal at the junior worlds.

Recently, Indian athlete Seema made history at the 2025 FISU World University Games held in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany. She became the first Indian woman to win a medal in the 5000m final event at these championships. Seema won the silver medal with a season-best time of 15:35.86, her second-fastest time ever. India finished 20th in the overall medal standings at the games. The country secured 12 medals in total – 2 gold, 5 silver, and 5 bronze. Recently, Manipur won the Junior Boys’ National Football Championship for the Dr. B.C. Roy Trophy (Tier 1) after 25 years. They defeated defending champions West Bengal 3-0 in the final on July 30, 2025, at Guru Nanak Dev University Sports Complex. The Junior Boys’ National Football Championship for the Dr. B.C. Roy Trophy 2025–26 was held in Amritsar, Punjab. This tournament is also known as the B.C. Roy Trophy. It is an Indian football competition for under-15 boys representing different states. Malta will host the 8th Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG) in late 2027. Around 1,150 athletes aged 14-18 from 74 nations and territories will take part. The 32-year-old Asian Games champion opened with 60.96m, secured the win early, and improved in her second attempt. Eda Tugsuz of Turkey won silver with 58.36m, and Lianna Davidson of Australia took bronze with 58.24m. Annu’s throw places her among the top 15 women’s javelin throwers globally this season. She is aiming for the 64m qualification mark for the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo next month.

The Asia Rugby Under-20 Sevens Championship 2025 was held for the first time in Bihar at Rajgir Sports Complex. India won the bronze medal in the women’s category by beating Uzbekistan. China won gold in the women’s category, defeating Hong Kong. Hong Kong won gold in the men’s category by beating Sri Lanka. Malaysia secured men’s bronze by beating China. Four Bihar players – Gudia Kumari, Anshu Kumari, Alpana Kumari, and Aarti Kumari – were in India’s squad. The mascot was ‘Ashoka’, a rabbit.

The Khelo India ASMITA Football League 2025-26 was inaugurated by Smt.
