POWERGRID Wins PMIS Partner Company Award

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Power, received the PMIS Recognition of Partner Company Award in the category of Innovation in Exit Pathways on 14 August 2026. The award ceremony was held by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi during India’s Independence Day celebrations.

POWERGRID and the Prime Minister Internship Scheme

The Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) was launched in December 2024 as a national internship initiative for youth engagement with industry. POWERGRID joined the scheme as a pan-India partner and offered 6,265 internship opportunities across Pilot Rounds 1 and 2 between December 2024 and December 2025.

Innovation in Exit Pathways

The award recognised POWERGRID’s practice of uploading training details of all PMIS interns on the Rozgaar portal of the Power Sector Skill Council (PSSC). The Rozgaar portal is used for skill-related placement and employment facilitation in the power sector ecosystem.

Presentation and other awardees

The award was presented by Dr. Pallavi Jain Govil, Secretary of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, and received on behalf of POWERGRID by Dr. Yatindra Dwivedi, Director (Personnel), and B. K. Mundu, Executive Director of Human Resource Development. Senior officials including Additional Secretary Anshuman Patnaik and Joint Secretary D. Balamurugan attended the ceremony.
