Indian and French Space Firms Sign Paris Summit Agreements

Indian and French private space companies signed three agreements at the inaugural International Space Summit in Paris on 10 September 2026. The agreements covered satellite launches, space surveillance, and microsatellite technology. The summit was held on 9–10 September 2026 and featured 51 announcements linked to about €20 billion in global space investments and contracts.

India-France Space Cooperation

India and France have cooperated in space through government and private-sector links in satellite systems, launch services, and Earth observation. France is a major European space power through the French space agency CNES, and India is a major spacefaring nation through the Indian Space Research Organisation.

Safran Space and Dhruva Space Agreement

Safran Space signed contracts worth over €5 million with Dhruva Space. The contract covers communication systems, inertial navigation units, optical payloads, and ground stations. These technologies are planned for integration into India’s SBS-III space-surveillance constellation.

The SBS-III constellation plans to deploy 52 satellites between 2027 and 2030. Space-surveillance constellations are used for tracking objects in orbit, including active satellites and space debris.

Launch Services and Microsatellite Cooperation

RIDE!, a French launch-services provider, signed an agreement to launch two satellites for TakeMeToSpace. TakeMeToSpace is an Indian company described as the country’s first designer of orbital data centres.

AXISCADES Technologies Limited signed a commercial cooperation agreement with U-Space. The agreement covers India’s microsatellite market, which includes small satellites used for communication, remote sensing, and technology demonstration.
