Uttar Pradesh Targets ₹5 Lakh Crore in Annual Exports by 2030
Uttar Pradesh has set a target of increasing annual exports from about ₹2 lakh crore to ₹5 lakh crore by 2030. The target was announced on 27 September 2026 at the UP International Trade Show in Greater Noida. The export plan is linked to the state’s wider goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy.
Export Policy Framework
The Export Promotion Policy 2025-30 of Uttar Pradesh aims to raise combined goods and services exports to $50 billion by FY2030. The policy places emphasis on market access, export facilitation, and sector-specific support for producers and traders. The state has also linked its export strategy with India’s expanding network of Free Trade Agreements.
Sectoral Focus and Industrial Base
Uttar Pradesh has identified defence, semiconductors, and electronics as priority sectors for industrial expansion. MSMEs and Product Categories
Micro, small and medium enterprises account for nearly 45% of Uttar Pradesh’s exports. Major export items from the state include engineering goods, handicrafts, textiles, and processed food. MSMEs form a large part of the state’s manufacturing and export base.
Excise Export Policy 2026-29
Uttar Pradesh has introduced a three-year Excise Export Policy for 2026-27 to 2028-29. The policy makes the state the first in India to have a dedicated multi-year framework for exporting alcoholic beverages, ethanol, and related products. The policy adds a separate export channel within the state’s trade framework.
