US Acknowledges Deployed Weapons in Space
On 14 September 2026, the United States Air Force Secretary Troy Meink stated that the United States has deployed “on-orbit space control weapons” for defence against hostile adversary action. He made the announcement at the Air & Space Forces Association’s 2026 Air, Space & Cyber Conference in National Harbor, Maryland. This was the first direct public acknowledgment by a United States official of deployed space-based weapons.
