SEBI Launches Project Jagrook Investor Awareness Campaign

The Securities and Exchange Board of India launched the “Samajh Se Investing Simple” investor awareness and education campaign under Project Jagrook on 5 October 2026 at Panjab University, Chandigarh. The launch coincided with World Investor Week 2026, which was observed from 5 October to 11 October.

Project Jagrook

Project Jagrook is an investor awareness initiative of the Securities and Exchange Board of India for financial literacy and securities market education. The campaign aims to simplify investing, support informed investment decisions, help investors verify platforms and payment requests, and prevent securities market fraud.

Mentoring of University and College Students

SEBI also introduced the Mentoring of University/College Students by Trainers (MUST) initiative under the campaign. The programme is designed to improve financial literacy and securities market awareness among students in universities and colleges.

Communication Channels and Language Coverage

The nationwide campaign will run through March 2027 and will use both physical and digital channels. It will operate in English, Hindi, and 11 regional languages for wider outreach across India.

Project Jagrook involves the Securities and Exchange Board of India, BSE, NSE, MCX, CDSL, NSDL, Association of Mutual Funds in India, and National Institute of Securities Markets. These institutions are part of India’s securities market ecosystem and investor education framework.

Official WhatsApp Channel

SEBI announced an official WhatsApp channel for investor awareness with the number 1800 22 7575. The channel will carry a verified blue tick for authenticity.
