Sagarmanthan: The Great Oceans Dialogue is scheduled to hold its third edition in New Delhi, India, from 7 October to 9 October 2026. The event is expected to bring together more than 1,200 speakers, delegates, and participants from nearly 75 countries for discussions on the global maritime sector.

Sagarmanthan: The Great Oceans Dialogue

Sagarmanthan is an annual maritime dialogue launched in New Delhi in 2024. It is co-hosted by the Observer Research Foundation and the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways of India. The platform brings together policymakers, industry leaders, scholars, and multilateral organisations.

Theme and Core Discussion Areas

The 2026 theme is “Blue Geographies, New Aspirations: Trade, Technology, and Trust at Sea.” The agenda includes trade, technology, sustainability, cooperation at sea, maritime resilience, sustainable shipping, digital transformation, the blue economy, and ocean governance.
