Indore Metro Priority Corridor-2 Inaugurated

Indore Metro Priority Corridor-2 was inaugurated on 5 September 2026 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The inauguration covered Phase-I (Reach-II) of the metro project and marked the opening of an 11 km corridor from Super Corridor-3 to Malviya Nagar Chauraha, also known as Radisson Hotel Chowraha.

Indore Metro Network

The operational Indore Metro network expanded with the launch of the new corridor. The active network was reported at about 17 km to 17.5 km after the extension, and the number of operational stations rose to 16.

Project Cost and Route Details

Reach-II was developed at an estimated cost of Rs 2,850 crore. The cumulative project cost of the operational Indore Metro network reached about Rs 4,370 crore after the addition of the new corridor.

Commercial Operations and Service Pattern

Regular passenger services on the extended Gandhi Nagar to Malviya Nagar route began on 6 September 2026. Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited operated trains from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM with a 15-minute frequency, and the service completed more than 80 trips daily.
