Indian Army Develops AI Platforms Kautilya and Q-FORCE
The Indian Army developed two Artificial Intelligence-based digital systems, Kautilya and Q-FORCE, in 2026 for command intelligence and logistics management. Kautilya is an AI-powered command intelligence platform, while Q-FORCE is an integrated digital application for supply chain and sustainment operations.
Kautilya: AI Command Intelligence Platform
Kautilya was launched during 21–25 May 2026 as an AI-powered command intelligence platform. It uses AI-enabled dashboards and Natural Language Processing-based interfaces for structured data generation, analytics, and decision support. The platform processes inputs on personnel, equipment, weapons, training, logistics, rations, and operational readiness. It also supports tablet-based data entry and functions as an AI co-pilot for administrative and operational tasks.
Q-FORCE: Logistics and Sustainment Application
Q-FORCE was launched around 22–25 May 2026 as an integrated digital application for logistics management. It is designed to streamline inventory handling, supply chain management, and sustainment operations. The application integrates multiple logistics and inventory platforms for use across varied terrain and operational conditions.
Artificial Intelligence in Indian Military Systems
The Indian Army has linked these platforms with its wider move towards Artificial Intelligence and data-driven systems in military operations. The Army has described 2026 as a year of networking and data centricity, with full AI integration into operations projected for 2027. Earlier AI use during Operation Sindoor involved 23 applications, including ECAS and TRINETRA, under Project SANJAY.
Important Facts for Exams
- Artificial Intelligence is a branch of computer science that enables machines to perform tasks such as data analysis, pattern recognition, and decision support.
- Natural Language Processing is a subfield of AI that allows computers to process and interpret human language.
- Project SANJAY is associated with digital integration in Indian military operations.
- Operation Sindoor is linked with the use of multiple AI applications by the Indian armed forces.
Key Technical Features
Kautilya uses structured inputs from operational and administrative domains, which makes it suitable for command-level data processing. Q-FORCE focuses on logistics, inventory, and sustainment, which are core components of military readiness.
