Government Clears ₹7,877-Crore Electronics Components Projects

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology approved 31 project proposals under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme on 17 August 2026. The projects involve an investment of ₹7,877 crore across 10 Indian states and are linked with an expected production output of ₹82,243 crore and nearly 10,000 direct jobs.

Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme

The Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme, or ECMS, is a central government scheme for manufacturing electronic components and related inputs in India. The scheme covers components, sub-assemblies, raw materials, and capital goods used in the electronics value chain.

Under the latest approvals, the scheme has crossed cumulative investments of ₹69,548 crore across 106 approved applications. This figure is higher than the original target of ₹59,350 crore for the scheme.

Approved Projects and Industrial Segments

Wipro Global increased its investment commitment by ₹1,033 crore under the scheme for manufacturing copper-clad laminates. Its total proposed investment under the scheme now stands at ₹1,401 crore.

Jyoti CNC Automation received approval for a ₹1,021 crore investment in electronic capital goods manufacturing. Bhagwati Products Limited, linked with Micromax, announced a ₹1,015 crore investment under the scheme, including ₹450 crore for mobile display manufacturing through TXD India and ₹565 crore for precision moulding in Greater Noida.

First-Time Domestic Manufacturing Approvals

The approved tranche includes first domestic manufacturing approvals in India for acetylene black, electrolyte additives, and hermetic terminals. These items are used in electronics manufacturing and related industrial applications.
