Black hole winds

Black hole winds are winds bearing dust and gas that are ejected from the accretion disc of black holes. Accretion disc is a disc of swirling material that surround a black hole. When materials build up in this disc, the temperature spikes and winds are ejected into the space. These winds have a crucial role in the evolution of the host galaxy. Researchers recently showed that these winds originate from the close vicinity of the central black hole.
