Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bengaluru has served as the venue for Aero India editions in Karnataka. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited functions as the nodal agency on behalf of the Department of Defence Production, which operates under the Ministry of Defence.

The Government of India has set a target of defence manufacturing worth ₹3 lakh crore and defence exports worth ₹50,000 crore by 2029-30.
