Tata Boeing Aerospace Delivers 400th Apache Fuselage

Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL) delivered its 400th “Made in India” fuselage for the AH-64E Apache attack helicopter from its Hyderabad facility on 7 September 2026. TBAL is a joint venture between Boeing and Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), and it was established in 2016.

Apache Helicopter and Fuselage Manufacturing

The AH-64E Apache is an attack helicopter used by the armed forces of several countries, including the United States Army. A fuselage is the main body structure of an aircraft and houses the cockpit, avionics, and other systems. TBAL manufactures Apache fuselages in a 52,000-square-metre facility in Hyderabad using robotics and automation.

TBAL Facility and Production Milestones

The Hyderabad unit employs more than 750 engineers and technicians. TBAL delivered its first “Made in India” Apache fuselage on 1 June 2018. The company reached its 300th fuselage delivery on 10 February 2025, and the 400th fuselage was delivered in 2026.

Apache Fleet in India

India’s domestic Apache fleet includes 28 helicopters. The Indian Air Force operates 22 Apache helicopters, and the Indian Army received six Apache helicopters in 2025.
