Sharmila Dhankar Wins CWG 2026 Shot Put Gold

Sharmila Dhankar won the gold medal in the women’s F57 shot put event at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow on 27 July 2026. She recorded a season-best throw of 9.81 metres. Her victory ended India’s 20-year wait for a para athletics medal at the Commonwealth Games, with India’s previous medal in this category dating to 2006.
