The joint entity, named Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Limited (REIL), aims to accelerate the development and deployment of enterprise-grade AI solutions across various sectors.
Strategic Collaboration Between Two Global Giants
The newly formed REIL brings together Reliance’s extensive enterprise ecosystem and Meta’s advanced AI capabilities. Reliance Intelligence Ltd will own 70 per cent of the venture, while Meta’s subsidiary, Facebook Overseas, Inc., will hold the remaining 30 per cent. The collaboration is expected to enhance India’s digital infrastructure by making cutting-edge AI tools accessible to businesses of all sizes.
Rs 855 Crore Investment for AI Expansion
The partners have committed an initial investment of Rs 855 crore in the new company. Reliance Intelligence will contribute Rs 2 crore towards the initial subscription of 20 million equity shares. According to regulatory filings, the deal does not require governmental or regulatory approvals and is not classified as a related party transaction. The investment underscores Reliance’s long-term commitment to integrating AI into its vast business network.
Enterprise AI as a Service for Diverse Industries
REIL will offer an enterprise AI platform-as-a-service, allowing organisations to customise and deploy generative AI models. The platform will include pre-configured solutions designed for sales, marketing, IT operations, finance, and customer service. Meta will provide technical expertise through its Llama open-source models, while Reliance will utilise its reach across thousands of Indian enterprises and small businesses. The solutions will be available on cloud, on-premises, and hybrid setups, enabling scalability and flexibility.
