12th November is observed as World Pneumonia Day to raise awareness about this deadly but preventable disease. Pneumonia is the world’s leading infectious killer, taking more lives of children under five than any other infection. It also poses a major risk to older people and those with chronic illnesses, especially in low- and middle-income countries. Prevention includes vaccines for Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib), pneumococcus, measles, and pertussis.

World Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Day is observed annually on the third Wednesday of November to raise awareness about Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). This year, it is observed on November 19, 2025, with the theme “Short of Breath, Think COPD” to encourage early diagnosis, public education, and better management of the progressive respiratory disease. The day is organized by the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) in collaboration with healthcare professionals and patient groups to highlight that COPD is a preventable and treatable condition.

World Fisheries Day 2025 is celebrated by Department of Fisheries on 21st November with the theme “India’s Blue Transformation: Strengthening Value Addition in Seafood Exports.” On the eve of the day, the government announced that total fish production for 2025–26 is expected to cross 11 lakh metric tonnes. Gujarat is a leading state in fisheries, ranking second in marine fish production and sixth in total fish production in India. In 2024–25, Gujarat produced 10.42 lakh metric tonnes of fish, including 7.64 lakh metric tonnes of marine fish and 2.78 lakh metric tonnes of inland fish. There is high international demand for Gujarat’s frozen shrimp, ribbon fish, cuttlefish, and squid in China, Europe, America, and Japan.

The fourth edition of the Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Organisation Seminar Swavlamban 2025 will begin on 26th November in New Delhi. The event will focus on the Indian Navy’s innovation and indigenisation efforts to meet evolving national security needs. Constitution came into force on 26 January 1950, celebrated as Republic Day. For 75 years, it upholds justice, liberty, equality, fraternity, protects citizens’ rights, and guides India’s democracy. To commemorate 75 years, Department of Justice launched “Hamara Samvidhan Hamara Samman” (Our Constitution, Our Honour), a year-long pan-India campaign simplifying the Constitution for citizens.
