NTPC has won the Gold award at 47th International Convention on Quality Control Circle (ICQCC-2022) in Jakarta.
The theme for ICQCC-2022 was ‘Built Back Better through Quality Efforts’ and the NTPC Quality Control Team presented on ‘Frequent Choking of Collecting tanks of AHP-IV’.NTPC had been declared the “Dream Employer of the Year” at the World HRD Congress and winner by the Association for Talent Development (ATD), USA.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented US president Joe Biden with a Kangra miniature painting from Himachal Pradesh on the concluding day of the 17th G20 summit in Indonesia’s Bali.
The Prime Minister gave Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez a Kanal brass set from Himachal’s Mandi and Kullu districts and Italy’s prime minister, Giorgia Meloni- a Patan Patola dupatta – handwoven from northern Gujarat. The scarf was made with a technique called ‘double ikat’ technique.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that the state cabinet has approved the reimplementation of the old pension scheme, which was discontinued in 2004.
The state government’s contribution towards the pension corpus will be Rs 1,000 crore per annum initially and will gradually be increased. The Cabinet also gave approval for amending the Punjab e-stamp Rules to start online e-stamping up to Rs 500.

‘World Fisheries Day’ is celebrated on November 21 every year to demonstrate solidarity with all fisher folk, fish farmers and stakeholders.
It started in 1997 where ‘World Forum of Fish Harvesters & Fish Workers’ met at New Delhi leading to formation of the ‘World Fisheries Forum’ with representatives from 18 countries.

The Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM) has been inaugurated in Silchar town of Assam.
This is the first-of-its-kind institute on Unani medicine with an investment of Rs 48 crore. The RRIUM will focus on conducting scientific research of Unani medicine, and on diseases that are prevalent in the Northeast.

Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy inaugurated the ‘Manipur Sangai Festival 2022’ at the Sangai Ethnic Park.
The 10-day-long festival will be held in 13 venues across the north-eastern state till November 30. The festival is celebrated as the Festival of Oneness to achieve unity through the participation of all indigenous communities of the state.

As per the Reserve Bank of India’s ‘Handbook of Statistics on Indian States 2021-22’, Karnataka has the highest total installed capacity of grid-interactive renewable power.
Karnataka had a total installed capacity of 15,463 megawatts (mw), according to an RBI publication. Tamil Nadu, with 15,225 mw, was at the second, followed by Gujarat, with 13,153 mw.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has secured a second term in Kazakhstan presidential elections, winning 81.3 percent of the vote.
Tokayev won his first election in 2019 with the backing of his predecessor, Nursultan Nazarbayev. In less than a year, Tokayev suppressed the anti-government demonstrations in his country’s history, and neutralised his predecessor. Nazarbayev retained the title of ‘Elbasy’ (head of the nation) in the Kazakh language.

Ayush Ministry announced setting up of Academic Chair in Ayurvedic Science at Western Sydney University, Australia.
The Chair is set up at the University’s NICM Health Research Institute, with tenure for a period of three years, to undertake research activities in Ayurveda, including herbal medicine and yoga.

SARANG, the 10th Indian Film Festival was organized by the Indian Embassy in Busan, South Korea. The festival screened selected critically acclaimed regional films with Korean sub-titles at Busan Cinema Centre.
The Film Festival is a part of the ongoing annual flagship cultural programme of Embassy of India, Seoul.
