An agreement worth USD 74.5 million was signed by Britain and France to stop illegal migrants from Channel crossings.
The multi-year agreement calls for a 40% increase in the number of French officers patrolling French beaches with British funding. More than 40,000 people have already crossed the Channel to Britain this year, up from 28,000 last year.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the silver jubilee edition of the Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS 22).
To mark the silver jubilee celebration Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai released a plaque. The inauguration ceremony was attended by French President Emmanuel Macron and ministers from UAE, Australia and Finland. The event was organised by the state Department of IT, Biotechnology and Science & Technology in association with Software Technology Parks of India (STPI).

The International Financial Services Centres Authority, IFSCA and Reserve Bank of India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for collaboration in the field of regulation and supervision of regulated entities.
The MoU facilitates technical cooperation and exchange of information. The agreement aims to strengthen the safety, stability and strength of financial ecosystems. IFSCA is a unified regulator responsible for development and regulation of financial products, financial services and financial institutions in IFSCs.

The Uttarakhand High Court will be shifted from Nainital to Haldwani. This decision was taken in a cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
The litigants and lawyers were facing issues of traffic congestion and roadblocks during the tourist season as well as during monsoon.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first greenfield airport in Arunachal Pradesh- Donyi Polo Airport in Hollangi, Itanagar.
The foundation stone for the airport was laid by the Prime Minister in February 2019. The Donyi Polo Airport will be the third operational airport in Arunachal Pradesh, taking the total airport count in the northeast region to 16.

India and Australia held their fifth bilateral cyber policy dialogue, involving strategic priorities, cyber threat assessment, next-generation telecommunications capacity building and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
The Cyber Policy Dialogue was held under the aegis of the India-Australia Framework Arrangement on Cyber and Cyber-Enabled Critical Technology Cooperation and Plan of Action 2020-2025.

Online payments firm Razorpay was awarded the ‘Startup of the Year award’ at Economic Times Startup Awards.
Razorpay was awarded this recognition for its success in building a strong disruptive digital payment ecosystem for banks and businesses in India.

The Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM) has been inaugurated in Silchar town of Assam.
This is the first-of-its-kind institute on Unani medicine with an investment of Rs 48 crore. The RRIUM will focus on conducting scientific research of Unani medicine, and on diseases that are prevalent in the Northeast.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) cut its gross domestic growth forecast for India for FY23 to 6.6 per cent from 6.9 per cent.
The reasons are higher medium-term global uncertainty and slowing domestic economic activity. India is set to be the second-fastest growing economy in the G-20 in FY23, despite decelerating global demand and the tightening of monetary policy.

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has released a new draft of Genetically Modified (GM) Food regulations for public consultation.
It proposes front-of-the pack labelling for packaged food products that contain 1 per cent or more of GM ingredients. No person shall manufacture, pack, store, sell, market or distribute or import any food or food ingredient produced from GMOs, except with the prior approval of the Food Authority.
