The State Bank of India (SBI) sold electoral bonds worth ₹10,246 crore since the instrument was launched in March 2018.
As per the recent data, majority of these bonds were of one crore while less than 10 per cent of subscriptions were of lower denominations including ten lakh, one lakh, ten thousand and one thousand.

Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal announced India’s first National Centre of Excellence for Green Port and Shipping (NCoEGPS), for providing greener solutions.
The Centre aims to develop a regulatory framework and alternate technology adoption road map for Green Shipping. India has been selected as the first country under the IMO Green Voyage 2050 project to conduct a pilot project related to Green Shipping.

The Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha launched the ‘Amar Sarkar’ web portal in the capital city Agartala.
This portal will act as a bridge between the government and the people. It ensures implementation of central and state government welfare projects at village and village committee level. Various problems and grievances of the people can be raised from village level to block, district and state level through this portal.

Nearly 200 countries at the UN climate summit COP-27 agreed to set up a “loss and damage fund” to support poorer countries which are affected by climate impacts.
‘Loss and damage’ refers to costs being incurred from climate-fuelled weather extremes or impacts, like rising sea levels. The fund covers the cost of damage that poorer countries cannot avoid or adapt to.

‘World Fisheries Day’ is celebrated on November 21 every year to demonstrate solidarity with all fisher folk, fish farmers and stakeholders.
It started in 1997 where ‘World Forum of Fish Harvesters & Fish Workers’ met at New Delhi leading to formation of the ‘World Fisheries Forum’ with representatives from 18 countries.

India has launched the official website of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) as it will host the next SCO summit as a chairman of organisation in 2023. The theme of the SCO Summit 2023 is ‘SECURE SCO’.
India received the SCO rotating presidency in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The leaders of SCO Member States signed the Samarkand Declaration in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State in the city of Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

Online payments firm Razorpay was awarded the ‘Startup of the Year award’ at Economic Times Startup Awards.
Razorpay was awarded this recognition for its success in building a strong disruptive digital payment ecosystem for banks and businesses in India.

Purnima Devi Barman, an Assam-based wildlife biologist, was awarded the ‘Champions of the Earth’ award this year.
It is presented by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Barman won the award in the ‘Entrepreneurial Vision’ category, for her work in protecting the ‘Greater adjutant stork’, called ‘hargila’ in Assamese.

India’s Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare announced a National Suicide Prevention Strategy.
The country’s first of its kind policy has time-bound action plans and multi-sectoral collaborations to achieve reduction in suicide mortality by 10% by 2030. It seeks to establish effective surveillance mechanisms for suicide within the next three years, establish psychiatric outpatient departments in all districts within the next five years, and to integrate a mental well-being curriculum in all educational institutions within the next eight years.

The Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) and Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), are set to organise the 25th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG) in Katra, Jammu & Kashmir.
The theme of this Conference is ‘Bringing Citizens, Industry and Government closer’. The National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) will be presented under 5 categories of the NAeG Scheme – 2022.
