The Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) and Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), are set to organise the 25th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG) in Katra, Jammu & Kashmir.
The theme of this Conference is ‘Bringing Citizens, Industry and Government closer’. The National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) will be presented under 5 categories of the NAeG Scheme – 2022.

Notes:
Lophopetalum tanahgambut is a newly identified tree species belonging to the genus Lophopetalum in the cosmopolitan family Celastraceae.
It is a large top canopy tree that grows to 40 m tall, with a trunk diameter at breast height of up to 1.05 m. The new species is only known from peat swamp forests of the Indonesian island of Sumatra.

Notes:
A contingent of Indian Special Forces troops is engaged in a bilateral joint training exercise, Garuda Shakti, with Indonesian Special Forces in Indonesia.
This is the eighth edition of the series of bilateral exercises under this banner of ‘Garuda Shakti’. The exercise aims at enhancing understanding, cooperation and interoperability between the Special Forces of both armies.

Tata Consumer Products Ltd is set to acquire Bisleri International for up to ₹7000 crore. Bisleri is the largest packaged drinking company in India.
The Tata Group runs its consumer business under Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL) which also sells packaged mineral water under the brand Himalayan.

IIT Guwahati Director Professor TG Sitharam has been appointed as the new chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
He will take the charge from UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar and hold the position for a period of three years. Professor TG Sitharam is also a member of the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), and a senior professor in the civil engineering department of IISc Bangalore.

During the COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, a broad coalition of 18 governments joined together to create a new high-level group ‘Ambition on Melting Ice on Sea-level Rise and Mountain Water Resources’.
The group is led by the two polar and mountain nations of Chile and Iceland. The ‘Ambition on Melting Ice’ group aims to ensure impacts of cryosphere loss are understood throughout the world.

The Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) has approved the Himalayan Yak as a ‘food animal’.
The approval is expected to help to prevent the decline in the population of the high-altitude bovine animal, as the move makes it a part of the conventional milk and meat industry. This was proposed by the National Research Centre (NRC) on Yak at Dirang in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has approved the appointment of Sundararaman Ramamurthy as the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Ramamurthy is currently the Chief Operating Officer-India at Bank of America. He was associated with the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) in various roles till 2014.

Notes:
The pavilion of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has been awarded for ‘Outstanding Contribution towards Public Communication and Outreach’ at 41st India International Trade Fair 2022 held at New Delhi.
More than 37,000 screenings, counseling and trainings conducted including Blood pressure and blood sugar, eye check up, oral check-up and anemia testing.

Notes:
The Tata group and Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced that they agreed to merge Vistara with Air India.
After the merger, ‘Vistara’ brand will cease to exist and Air India will become India’s second largest domestic and largest international carrier. Earlier Tata Group initiated the merger of AirAsia India with Air India Express earlier this year.
