Notes:
The second edition of ASEAN India Music Festival was organised in collaboration between the Ministry of External Affairs and Seher India.
It is a three-day festival held at Purana Qila, Delhi. It is aimed to celebrate the musical diversity of Southeast Asia. 10 bands from ASEAN countries and five acts from India are participating in the festival.

Notes:
Tamil Nadu has launched the ‘Tamil Nadu Elephant Death Audit Framework’ to document reasons for elephant deaths for better accountability.
According to media reports, out of the 131 elephant deaths recorded in Tamil Nadu’s forest divisions between January 2021 and March 2022, only 13 were human-induced. The framework will improve transparency and facilitate more credible comparisons of cause of mortality.

The Indian Space Research Organisation has been exempted from a central inspection and approval regime for production of stable propellants for area rockets.
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has exempted ISRO from operation of provisions of the explosives rules, 2008, for manufacturing, storage, use and transportation of Solid Propellant for Space Rockets falling under UN Class 1 (Explosives).

Notes:
Buddhavanam, the first-of-its-kind Buddhist Heritage Theme Park project, was inaugurated in Telangana.
It was developed by the Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation at Nagarjunasagar. The corporation is also exploring to set upBuddhist Monasteries of different countries and Buddhist University near Nagarjunasagar.

Following the fights between Bangladeshi security forces and the Kuki-Chin National Army (KNA), tribals of Chin-Kuki ethnic community are fleeing Bangladesh.
Mizoram government announced to provide temporary shelter, food and relief to as many as 274 Bangladeshi tribal nationals who entered Bangladesh.

A draft Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Amendment) Bill, 2022, prepared by the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, has been released for public comments.
It has introduced 61 amendments in the law including “Bestiality” as a crime under the new category of ‘Gruesome cruelty’. It proposes fines from Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000 or cost of the animal whichever is more or with imprisonment of one year to three years or both for the offence of gruesome cruelty. For killing an animal, the draft Bill proposes a maximum punishment of five years in jail.

Russia recently launched the nuclear-powered icebreaker Yakutia at the Baltic Shipyard in St. Petersburg in northwest Russia.
The ceremony was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin via video link. The Yakutia belongs to a series of ‘Project 22220 nuclear-powered icebreakers’ that are being built for Russia’s Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation. They are the largest and the most powerful in the world.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched successfully PSLV-C54 carrying Oceansat-3 also known as Earth Observation Satellite-6, and 8 nano-satellites.
The satellite was launched from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The eight nanosatellites include ISRO Nano Satellite-2 for Bhutan (INS-2B), Anand, Astrocast (four satellites), and two Thybolt satellites.

Notes:
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated a scheme in Bihar, under which flood waters will be treated for supply to households in the southern part of the state.
Under the Ganga Water Supply Scheme (GWSS), a total of 135 litres per person will be provided through the project. The estimated cost of the project is ₹4500 crore.

The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) has voted unanimously to start discussions on international tax standards.
This decision has developing countries, including India more voice in framing global tax rules. Around USD 500-600 billion is lost every year in corporate tax revenue and a low-income countries suffer more with a higher proportion of GDP.
