Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports announced the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards for the current year. The award will be given in four categories, Land Adventure, Water Adventure, Air Adventure and Life Time Achievement. Group Capitan Bhawani Singh Samyal will be conferred with Life time Achievement award.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains the world’s most popular leader with an approval rating of 77 percent.
This was revealed in a Global Leader Approval Ratings released by a US based consulting firm Morning Consult.  Mexico President Andrés Manuel López Obrador stands at second position followed by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

During the COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, a broad coalition of 18 governments joined together to create a new high-level group ‘Ambition on Melting Ice on Sea-level Rise and Mountain Water Resources’.
The group is led by the two polar and mountain nations of Chile and Iceland. The ‘Ambition on Melting Ice’ group aims to ensure impacts of cryosphere loss are understood throughout the world.

UK businesses in India have rated Maharashtra the highest amongst States in terms of the operating environment, as per the UK India Business Council’s annual ‘Doing Business in India’ Report 2022.
Maharashtra is followed by Gujarat, Chandigarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.

CITES COP19 has recently accepted the proposal to downgrade the status of southern white rhinos from Appendix I to Appendix II.
The COP-19 accepted the proposal by Botswana and Namibia to degrade the status. Wild animal species listed in Appendix I include those threatened with extinction.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar presented Shilp Guru and National Awards to master craftspersons in Delhi, for 2017, 2018, and 2019.
These awards are conferred every year to legendary master craftspersons of handicrafts whose work has contributed to the preservation of the craft heritage of the country. The Ministry of Textiles organises the ceremony, which honours craftspersons from different locations.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has approved the appointment of Sundararaman Ramamurthy as the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Ramamurthy is currently the Chief Operating Officer-India at Bank of America. He was associated with the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) in various roles till 2014.

Former athlete P T Usha has been elected to become the president of Indian Olympic Association (IOA).
P T Usha won 23 medals, including 14 gold, in the Asian Championships from 1983 to 1998. She also finished fourth in the 400-metre hurdles final at the 1984 Olympics. She is also known as the ‘Payyoli Express’.

Indian Researchers from IISER-Thiruvananthapuram and IIT-Indore have developed a new artificial light-harvesting system.
It can efficiently capture light for power conversion by mimicking photosynthesis. The research showed that the harvested energy could generate current with much enhanced yields compared to the individual components.

International Jaguar Day is celebrated on November 29 every year. Jaguar is the third largest Cat Predator in the World and an important species of the Amazon Rainforest.
International Jaguar Day was created to raise awareness about the increasing threats facing the jaguar and the critical conservation efforts for its survival.
