Notes:
Under section 45ZN of the RBI Act, the central bank is required to submit a report to the government explaining the reasons and remedial actions it would take, in case of failure to maintain its inflation target for three consecutive quarters.
For the first time since the implementation of the monetary policy framework in 2016, the central bank has called a special meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC). It will submit a report to the government, as the retail inflation rate is above six per cent target for three consecutive quarters from January 2022.

The Ministry of Electronics and IT has approved the greenfield Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) to be set up in Ranjangaon Phase III, near Pune in Maharashtra.
The project cost of the Cluster is Rs 492.85 crores. There are EMCs in Noida, Tirupati, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, where multi-national companies and Indian start-ups have set up their units.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has instructed all higher educational institutions to observe a ‘Bharatiya Bhasha Divas’ on December 11 every year.
The Day aims to celebrate language harmony and promote Indian languages. The move came after recommendations of a committee constituted by the Ministry of Education last year to emphasise the importance of Indian languages.

The first of its kind ‘Fish Museum’ in the Northeast India would be built in Arunachal Pradesh. The existing Tarin Fish Farm (TFF) in the state would be upgraded as the Integrated Aqua Park (IAP), where the museum would come up
Three years ago, one IAP has been sanctioned for each state and Union territory under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampad Yojana (PMMSY).

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has invited stakeholder comments on the proposed new common ITR form.
At present, taxpayers are required to furnish their Income-tax Returns in various forms including ITR-1 to ITR-7 depending upon the type of person and nature of income.  The draft proposes to introduce a common ITR by merging all the existing returns of income except ITR-7.

According to the US News and World Report, out of 85 nations, India has been ranked as the nation with the cheapest manufacturing cost ahead of China and Vietnam.
India has bagged the 31st position in the overall Best Countries ranking while it featured at the 37th spot in the ‘Open for Business’ category. In the overall Best Countries ranking, Switzerland has topped the chart, followed by Germany, Canada, US and Sweden.

Delhi has topped the Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) coverage with 61.5 per cent of their working population.
It is followed by Goa with 51.4 per cent and Haryana with 35.3 per cent, according to the vision document of EPFO. Maharashtra leads the chart with 11.9 million EPFO subscribers, followed by Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Uttar Pradesh Cabinet gave its nod to the state’s new ‘Investment and Employment Promotion Policy, 2022’.
The new policy categorises investments into four major categories – Large, Mega, Super Mega and Ultra Mega. The new policy will provide attractive incentives for the development of private industrial parks.

The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), Ministry of Jal Shakti is organizing Ganga Utsav- The River Festival 2022 on 4th November, 2022 in New Delhi.
NMCG has been celebrating Ganga Utsav since 2017 every year on 4th November. One of the main objectives of Ganga Utsav 2022 is to celebrate our rivers and spread awareness on the significance of river rejuvenation across river basins in India.

Notes:
As per a recent report released by Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), the UN children’s fund UNICEF and the World Food Programme, almost eight million people in South Sudan, or two thirds of the population in the deeply troubled country, are at risk of hunger.
As per the report, proportion of people facing high levels of food insecurity and malnourishment is at the highest level ever, surpassing levels seen even during the conflict in 2013 and 2016.
