Meghalaya government signed an MoU with the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGFTMSE), to facilitate flow of credit to the MSE sector.
The MoU was signed CGTMSE under the Union Ministry of MSME to implement the ‘Meghalaya Credit Guarantee Scheme’. Currently, loans taken by MSME borrowers are covered under CGTMSE against a risk coverage of 75 per cent of the loan amount under various MSME schemes.

The International Open Access Week is celebrated around the world from 24 to 30 October. It is an annual initiative to promote open access (OA) in the academic and research world.
This year the motto is Open for Climate Justice and aims to raise awareness of how open access can be a means for climate justice. In India, CSIR-NIScPR is one of the largest Open Access publishers of India which publishes 15 Diamond Open Access scholarly journals. In 2022, the International Open Access Week, entered its fifteenth year of celebration.

The Union cabinet approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Denmark on cooperation in the field of Water Resources Development and Management.
Both the countries launched a Joint Statement on establishment of Green Strategic Partnership. A Centre of Excellence for Smart Water Resources Management and a smart Lab on Clean River waters in Varanasi is also planned.

HDFC ERGO has launched first-of-its-kind satellite index-based Farm Yield Insurance Policy for farmers.
The satellite-based index will be used to provide localized farm level coverage and it will provide comprehensive cover across the crop life cycle from sowing to harvesting, basis satellite-based data.

Indian President inaugurates Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) North Eastern Regional Campus at Aizawl.
The President attended the Convocation of Mizoram University (MZU) On the occasion and she also virtually inaugurated various education-related projects which a permanent campus of Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) at Aizawl.

Delhi has topped the Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) coverage with 61.5 per cent of their working population.
It is followed by Goa with 51.4 per cent and Haryana with 35.3 per cent, according to the vision document of EPFO. Maharashtra leads the chart with 11.9 million EPFO subscribers, followed by Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Adani New Industries has installed India’s largest Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) at Mundra in Gujarat. The turbine is said to be taller than Statue of Unity (182 meters).
The turbine has been installed by Mundra Windtech Ltd (MWL), a wholly-owned subsidiary incorporated by Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL).

Top-seeded Indian Grandmaster, R Praggnanandhaa and compatriot P V Nandhidhaa won the titles in the Open and women’s sections respectively in the Asian Continental Chess championship.
Praggnanandhaa drew with compatriot B Adhiban in the ninth and final round to win the title with seven points. The victory also earned Praggnanandhaa a ticket to the next FIDE World Cup. In the women’s event, Nandhidhaa remained unbeaten throughout to finish first with 7.5 points.

Indian men’s team clinched their first-ever gold at the Asian Squash Team Championships. They defeated Kuwait in the final in straight sets in Cheongju, South Korea.
Indian squash players Saurav Ghoshal and Ramit Tandon won their games in the final. Previously, the Indian team had won 2014 Asian Games Gold. Hong Kong defeated Malaysia to win the women’s Asian Team Championship title for the fourth time this millennium.

India’s Union Ministry of Tourism is set to participate in World Travel Market (WTM) 2022, to be held in London.
WTM is one of the largest international travel exhibitions. The theme of this year`s exhibition is ‘The Future of Travel Starts Now’. During 2019, the contribution of travel and tourism to India’s GDP was 5.19% and it accounted for 79.86 million direct and indirect jobs.
