The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) observes Vigilance Awareness Week every year to spread the message of integrity in all spheres of life.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently launched the new Complaint Management System portal of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). He also released the booklets on ‘Ethics and Good Practices’; Compilation of best practices on ‘Preventive Vigilance’ and a Special issue ‘VIGEYE-VANI’ on public procurement.

Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in collaboration with the state government of Kerala is organising the 15th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference and Expo 2022 in Kochi.
The primary objective of the conference is to spread information to the cities, to help them keep up-to-date with latest and best urban transport practices globally. Senior officers from Central and State Governments policy makers, Managing Directors of Metro Rail Companies, Chief Executives of transport undertakings will participate in this event.

India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) set up under the Ministry of Communication, conducted India’s First Floating Financial Literacy Camp.
IPPB, in collaboration with Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA) under the aegis of Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), launched the initiative called ‘Niveshak Didi’ to promote Financial Literacy “By the women, for the women” concept.

‘Ezhuthachan Puraskaram’ is the Kerala state government’s highest literary honour, named after Thunchaththu Ramanujan Ezhuthachan, a 16th century devotional poet.
This year, Noted Malayalam fiction writer Sethu has been selected for the Ezhuthachan Award 2022, in recognition of his overall contribution to Malayalam language and literature. The writer is also a recipient of the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award and Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award.

Veteran writer M.T. Vasudevan Nair has been named the recipient of the first Kerala Jyothi award instituted by the State Government.
The jury was chaired by the renowned film-maker Adoor Gopalakrishnan. Actor Mammootty, former civil servant, social activist T. Madhava Menon among others are selected for the Kerala Prabha award while sculptor Kanayi Kunhiraman, scientist and educationist M.P. Parameswaran and singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi among others will be presented Kerala Sree award.

The World Meteorological Organization released the provisional State of the Global Climate in 2022 report.
As per the report, the past eight years are on track to be the eight warmest on record, fuelled by rising greenhouse gas concentrations and accumulated heat. It also cited that extreme heat-waves, drought and devastating flooding have affected millions and cost billions this year.

The foundation stone of the construction work of the World’s First Vedic Clock has been done in the city of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.
The ‘Vedic Clock’ will be constructed at Jantar Mantar Government Jiwaji Observatory at a cost of Rs 1.62 cr. This clock will be fixed on the basis of the principles of Vedic time calculation. The application of the Vedic Clock will be used for moon position, festival, auspicious time, birth anniversary, fast, festival major holidays among others.

Tesla Inc boss Elon Musk announced that he will serve as Chief executive of Twitter, the social media company he bought for USD 44 billion.
Musk also runs rocket company SpaceX, brain-chip startup Neuralink and tunneling firm the Boring Company. He had fired Twitter’s previous chief Parag Agrawal and other top company officials and proposed revisions to the platform’s user verification process.

Russia has emerged as the top oil supplier to India in October, surpassing traditional suppliers Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
Russia now supplies almost 22% of India’s total crude imports, ahead of Iraq’s 20.5 per cent and Saudi Arabia’s 16 per cent. Many Western nations issue sanctions against Russia amidst the Russia-Ukraine War.

The Union Cabinet has approved new guidelines for uplinking and downlinking of television channels in India.
Under the guidelines, all the stations will have to broadcast content on issues of national importance and social relevance for at least 30 minutes every day.
