The President of India Droupadi Murmu presented the National Florence Nightingale Awards for the year 2021 to the Nursing professionals.
The National Florence Nightingale Awards were instituted in the year 1973 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, as a mark of recognition for the meritorious services rendered by the nurses and nursing professionals to the society.

Notes:
India is participating in 26th International Malabar Naval Exercise beginning in Yokosuka of Japan. Australia, Japan and the USA are also participating in the Malabar Naval Exercise.
The MALABAR Exercise was initiated in 1992 between the navies of India and the United States. India is participating in the exercise with Indian Naval Ships (INS) Shivalik and Kamorta.

American technology major Google has launched a platform that displays flood forecasts, namely ‘FloodHub’.
This platform shows the area and time where floods could occur, in order to inform people about the natural calamity. Google has used an AI technique called transfer learning to make it work in areas where there is less data available.

Notes:
A documentary filmmaker working on a film on the indologist famous for working on the first Kannada dictionary, has digitally recreated one of those fonts for Kannada.
Named as the ‘Kittel font’, it will be released on an open source platform. The font is just one of the fonts used during the 1860-1925 period.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will attend the ASEAN-India summit in Cambodia, which is expected to review the status of the strategic partnership between the two sides.
He will also represent India at the 17th East Asia Summit during his three-day visit to the Southeast Asian nation, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

Uttarakhand is celebrating its 22nd state foundation day on November 9. Uttarakhand was formed on the same day in 2000, as 27th state of India.
The state is divided into Garhwal and Kumoan divisions. Several programs were held in various parts of the state to mark the occasion.

Ministry of Panchayati Raj implements the property survey Scheme ‘SVAMITVA’. The Report of Expert Committee on SVAMITVA Scheme was released during the National Conference on SVAMITVA Scheme and Rural Planning held at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
It provides the guiding principles that states may adopt in order to realize the objectives of the SVAMITVA Scheme holistically.  The Expert Committee was formed in February, 2022 under the Chairmanship of B. K. Agarwal, Former Secretary to the Government of India.

India hosted the 2nd BIMSTEC Agriculture Ministers meeting under the chairmanship of Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, in New Delhi.
Agriculture Ministers of Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Thailand participated in the meeting. BIMSTEC stands for Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation.

England claimed their second Twenty20 World Cup title with a five-wicket win over Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Ben Stokes scored an unbeaten half-century as the country won the title. Sam Curran was named the player of the match and the player of the tournament.

Senior IAS officer Gaurav Dwivedi was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of public broadcaster Prasar Bharati.
Dwivedi will have a five-year tenure from the date he assumes charge. Shashi Shekhar Vempati was the CEO of Prasar Bharati for five year tenure from 2017 to 2022. Earlier, Dwivedi was the Chief Executive Officer of MyGovIndia platform.
