Notes:
The Ministry of Education has released the Performance Grading Index (PGI) for States and Union Territories for 2020-21.
The index has evidence-based comprehensive analysis of school education systems across States and UTs. A total of seven States and UTs namely Kerala, Punjab, Chandigarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Andhra Pradesh have attained Level -2 grading in 2020-21. PGI 2020-21 classified the States and UTs into ten grades of which the highest achievable Grade is Level 1.

The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) observes Vigilance Awareness Week every year to spread the message of integrity in all spheres of life.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently launched the new Complaint Management System portal of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). He also released the booklets on ‘Ethics and Good Practices’; Compilation of best practices on ‘Preventive Vigilance’ and a Special issue ‘VIGEYE-VANI’ on public procurement.

Notes:
The Karnataka government gave directions to the schools and pre university colleges in the state to ensure 10 minutes meditation session for students.
The meditation ‘dhyan’ session is already being conducted at schools in many districts of the state. The requests have been made to allow meditation classes for 10 minutes in all schools and colleges across the state. It aims to increase concentration, health, and good thoughts of the state.

Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in collaboration with the state government of Kerala is organising the 15th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference and Expo 2022 in Kochi.
The primary objective of the conference is to spread information to the cities, to help them keep up-to-date with latest and best urban transport practices globally. Senior officers from Central and State Governments policy makers, Managing Directors of Metro Rail Companies, Chief Executives of transport undertakings will participate in this event.

In 2015 the United Nations declared that each year 5 November would be observed as World Tsunami Awareness Day.
It is a reminder that when a tsunami strikes, everyone must be ready to get to high ground. As per the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, Early warning and early action are effective tools to protect people and preventing the hazard from becoming a disaster.

The 15th edition of the Agro Tech India organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is scheduled to be held in Chandigarh from November 4 to 7.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, and Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) are partners for CII Agro Tech India -Agri and Food Technology Fair’. This year’s theme is ‘Digital Transformation for Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security’.

Indian men’s team clinched their first-ever gold at the Asian Squash Team Championships. They defeated Kuwait in the final in straight sets in Cheongju, South Korea.
Indian squash players Saurav Ghoshal and Ramit Tandon won their games in the final. Previously, the Indian team had won 2014 Asian Games Gold. Hong Kong defeated Malaysia to win the women’s Asian Team Championship title for the fourth time this millennium.

Notes:
Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved a USD 350 million (about Rs 2,900 crore) loan to improve the road connectivity in Maharashtra.
The ‘Connecting Economic Clusters for Inclusive Growth in Maharashtra’ project will develop the state’s core road network. It will help connect underdeveloped rural communities with more opportunities, improve access to health and social services and improve agricultural value chains.

Rajasthan has launched its first Handicraft policy to promote the skills and harness the potential of local craftsmen.
The focus of the handicraft policy, is to support the craftsmen and weavers, as well as ensure their access to technological advancements. The policy also provides for handicraft parks, design centres, sales centres, and the creation of a Directorate of Handicraft.

National Legal Services Day is observed every year on 9th November to commemorate the commencement of Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 which came into force on 9th November, 1995.
On the occasion of National Legal Services Day, Delhi State Legal Services Authority inaugurated the Information Board of DSLSA.
