India is placed at 77th position in the Global bribery risk rankings by TRACE, an anti-bribery standard setting organisation.
It measures the business bribery risk in 194 countries, territories, and other regions. Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden and New Zealand present the lowest commercial bribery risk. Last year, India stood at 78th rank.

Technology Giant Google has recently rolled out its Rich Communication Services (RCS) messaging globally.
The RCS chat services, which are an upgrade to the basic SMS features, by which Google aims to match the standalone messaging services like WhatsApp. It includes improved quality photos and videos, chat over Wi-Fi or data etc.

The 30th edition of India-Thailand Coordinated Patrol (Indo-Thai CORPAT) between the Navies of India and Thailand concluded recently in the Bay of Bengal.
INS Karmuk participated in the exercise along with a Dornier Maritime Patrol Aircraft. The two navies of the country have been conducting CORPAT twice a year since 2005. The 24th edition of Exercise Malabar also concluded in the Arabian Sea.

The Union Agriculture Ministry has given approval for subsidised loans worth Rs 3,971.31 crore for implementing micro-irrigation projects.
The interest subvented loans are being offered under Micro Irrigation Fund (MIF) created with National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). Out of the total loans, maximum loan has been approved for Tamil Nadu.

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has recently accepted the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) as a component of the World-Wide Radio Navigation System (WWRNS) for operation in the Indian Ocean Region.
After this approval, merchant vessels can use IRNSS for obtaining position information similar to GPS and GLONASS.

Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the acquisition of retail, wholesale, logistics & warehousing businesses of Future Group by Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd and Reliance Retail and Fashion Lifestyle Ltd.
In the month of August this year, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) acquired the businesses of Kishore Biyani’s Future Group for Rs 24,713 crore. After the approval, RIL will have access to around 1800 retail stores of Future Group.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to attend the two-day virtual 15th G20 Summit, which is being chaired by Saudi Arabia.
The theme of the summit is “Realising the Opportunities of the 21st Century for All”. This summit is the second meeting of the G20 Leaders, this year. The last G20 Extraordinary Leaders’ summit was held in March 2020.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually participated in the convocation ceremony of the Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gujarat.
He inaugurated five state-of-the-art facilities including ‘India-h2o’, an Indo-EU bilateral project for industrial waste and desalination, under Horizon 2020 initiative. He also said that the country has set a target of reducing its carbon footprint by 30 to 35 per cent.

The Union Government has recently approved 28 Food Processing Projects worth more than 320 crore rupees. They are supported with a grant of over Rs 107 crore by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
They are approved under the Scheme for Creation and Expansion of Food Processing and Preservation Capacities (CEFPPC). The aim of the scheme is to create processing and preservation capacities and expansion of existing food processing units.

The U.N. children’s agency UNICEF announced that around 2 billion doses of Covid-19 vaccines will be sent to developing countries next year.
UNICEF has partnered with 350 airlines and freight companies to deliver vaccines and 1 billion syringes to poor countries, as part of COVAX initiative. Under the initiative led by GAVI vaccine group and WHO among others aims to deter hoarding Covid-19 vaccines.
