Union Minister of Culture Prahlad Singh Patel recently handed over the bronze idols of Lord Rama, Lakshmana and Goddess Sita to Idol Wing of Tamil Nadu Government.
These Bronze idols were handed over to High Commission of India in London by the London Metropolitan Police, in September 2020. These idols belong to a temple in Nagapattinam district of Tamil Nadu, from where they were stolen in 1978.

Union Education Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank will be conferred with the Vatayan Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Minister had earlier received various awards for governance and literature. He holds an honorary doctoral degree in the field of literature and has also penned over 75 books. Vatayan International Awards are presented to poets and artists by the Vatayan-UK organization in London

The first stand-alone Summit between India and Luxembourg in the past two decades was held virtually.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the summit along with his Luxembourg counterpart Xavier Bettel. Three agreements were signed during the summit, including those between the Luxembourg Stock Exchange with State Bank of India and with the India International Stock Exchange.

The Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PM-FME) Scheme is a centrally sponsored scheme, launched under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, under Food Processing Ministry.
Recently, Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Narendra Singh Tomar inaugurated the capacity building component of the scheme. With an outlay of Rs 10,000 crore over a period of five years it aims to formalise micro-enterprises in the unorganized segment of the food processing industry.

Global financial services and payment technology company Mastercard has partnered with USAID to launch a programme called ‘Project Kirana’.
Under the programme, the organisations aim to expand financial inclusion and encourage women who own or operate kirana shops to adopt digital payments, thereby helping to increase their revenue. Around 3000 women are to be enrolled across Uttar Pradesh, in a pilot step.

The Government of India, the state Government of Meghalaya and the World Bank signed a USD 120 million Meghalaya Integrated Transport Project (MITP).
The project aims to improve about 300 km of strategic road segments and bridges in the state by using climate resilient solutions. It will also make Meghalaya, a major connecting hub for international trade through the Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, and the Nepal Corridor.

A virtual counter-terrorism dialogue was recently held between India and the Belgium-headquartered European Union.
As per the joint statement, both India and the EU condemned terrorism in all forms, including the “Use of terrorist proxies for cross-border terrorism”. The dialogue also called on all countries to ensure no region under their control is used for terrorist attacks on other countries.

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has signed an ordinance amending the Kerala Police Act. It is expected to empower the law enforcement to prosecute persons who exploit social media to target women and children.
In October, the State cabinet had decided to amend the Act to recommend five years of imprisonment and a fine of ₹10,000 for those convicted of producing, publishing or disseminating derogatory content to intimidate any person through social media.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually participated in the convocation ceremony of the Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gujarat.
He inaugurated five state-of-the-art facilities including ‘India-h2o’, an Indo-EU bilateral project for industrial waste and desalination, under Horizon 2020 initiative. He also said that the country has set a target of reducing its carbon footprint by 30 to 35 per cent.

Retired Major General R N Chibber, who had participated in 1962, 1965 and 1971 wars, recently passed away.
The 86-year-old veteran officer had worked in Afghanistan from 1972 to 1975 as a military attache. He also commanded the 8 Jat Regiment. He was awarded Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) for his distinguished service.
