The Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has recently proposed a regulatory framework to respond to unexplained suspicious trading pattern around the presence of material non-public information.
The framework would deal with malpractices by market participants, who use new-age technologies by way of encrypted or vanishing messages, and modus operandi to evade the law.

iDEATION is a flagship startup program of the Assam-based Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL).
The NRL and the T-Hub (Technology Hub), an innovation hub and ecosystem enabler based out of Hyderabad, have recently inked an MoU to collaborate on business innovation and growth hack.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI has decided to withdraw Rs.2,000 denominated notes from circulation.
It has urged everyone to exchange these notes by September 30 this year.  However, the notes will continue as legal tender. Exchange of Rs 2,000 notes into notes of other denominations can be made upto a limit of Rs 20,000.

Sagar Parikrama Yatra Phase-V was launched recently. Its purpose is to resolve issues of fishermen and other stakeholders and promote their economic wellbeing.
It facilitates their economic upliftment through various fisheries schemes and programs being implemented by the Government of India such as Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) and Kisan Credit Card (KCC).

Deputy Chief Minister post, which is not mentioned by the Constitution, is equivalent to the rank of a cabinet minister.
DK Shivakumar recently became the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka. Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot administered the oath of office and secrecy to Shivakumar at the swearing-in ceremony. Siddaramaiah was sworn in as the chief minister for the second time.

The United States and Papua New Guinea have recently signed a defence cooperation agreement recently.
It will enhance the Pacific island nation’s defence capabilities and make it easier for the United States to train its forces.

Recently, the National Campaign for Updation and Verification of People’s Biodiversity Register (PBR) was launched in Goa. Its aim is to document and preserve India’s biological diversity.
The event was organized by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, in association with the Goa State Biodiversity Board, the National Biodiversity Authority, and the Government of Goa.

ITF Transport Outlook 2023 was released recently by the International Transport Forum at the OECD. It was released during the at the ITF Summit in Leipzig, Germany.
The analysis covers the movement of passengers and freight across all transport modes. It examines the impacts of different policy measures on global transport demand and carbon dioxide emissions to 2050.

Mihir is a 2.8 petaflop supercomputer in the National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF).
Union Earth Sciences Minister Kiren Rijiju visited NCMRWF recently. The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, is home to ‘Pratyush’, a 4.0 petaflop supercomputer.

The ‘State of Ransomware 2023’ report revealed that 73 per cent of India-based organisations that were surveyed were victims to ransomware.
As per the report, 43 percent of organizations that were surveyed had their data encrypted but still had to pay ransom.
