The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) recently concluded the first integrated test on an intermediate configuration of the 2000 kN (Kilonewton) semi-cryogenic engine.
This test was conducted at the newly-commissioned Semi-cryogenic Integrated Engine & Stage Test facility at ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC).

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is proposed to hold common counselling for all seats of government medical colleges, private medical colleges and deemed institutions.
The Tamil Nadu government is planning to officially oppose the proposed move of the Medical Counselling Committee. The MCC carries out counselling for all seats in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate and Medical Research throughout the nation.

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Myanmar’s Deputy Prime Minister jointly inaugurated the Sittwe Port in Myanmar and received the first Indian cargo ship. Sittwe Port has been developed as a part of the Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project (KMTTP) funded under grant in aid assistance from Government of India.
The port will provide an alternative connectivity between Mizoram and Haldia in West Bengal or any Indian port through the Kaladan river in Myanmar.

NVS-01 Satellite is set to be launched by ISRO on May 29. It is a navigation satellite that will be launched aboard the GSLV Mk-II.
It aims to augment the seven-satellite navigation constellation NavIC. The NVS-01 satellite will replace the navigational capabilities of another satellite IRNSS-1G in the constellation. It will retain its communication and messaging capabilities.

Burachapori wildlife sanctuary is a protected area situated in Assam, on the south bank of the Brahmaputra River.
The state government recently announced the plan to open the traditional path of wild animals from the Kaziranga National Park to Orang National Park through this wildlife sanctuary.

Comet Read is the main belt comet that is found in the main asteroid belt but has a halo or coma and a tail like a comet. It is one of the three comets used to establish the category of main belt comets.
James Webb Space Telescope’s finding is intriguing because this is the first-time water has been found in the main asteroid belt, which is located between Mars and Jupiter.

The Ministry of Heavy Industry is planning to increase the outlay for the FAME-II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles in India) scheme this financial year.
The Ministry recently held a stakeholder consultation with e2-W manufacturers to deliberate the proposed changes to the scheme.
