Nathuram Mirdha was a six-time Member of Lok Sabha and served as a Union Minister from 1979-80 and 1989-90.

REMC – a subsidiary of the RITES Ltd – has established the National Energy Management Centre (NEMC) at its office. REMC stands for Railway Energy Management Company.
The purpose of this centre is to oversee and handle the energy procurement for the Railways at a pan-India level.

AutoGrow Project is implemented jointly by the Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR) and Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB).
Under this project, an automated greenhouse system is developed for precision in agriculture.  The system has three configurations; hydroponics, open grow farming, and vertical setup.

Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) is the flagship initiative of the Union Defence Ministry. It recently reached a millstone with the signing of the 250th contract.
The contract is the first one under the Mission DefSpace, and the 100th SPRINT (Navy) contract. Mission DefSpace was launched with 75 Defence Space Challenges to be addressed by the private sector.

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI) has relaxed norms for surety bonds to expand the surety insurance market.
Surety bond is a type of insurance policy that protects the party involved in a transaction or contract from potential financial loss caused by the breach of contract or other types of non-performance.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has recently released a new guideline on non-sugar sweeteners (NSS).
It recommends against the use of NSS to control body weight or reduce the risk of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). The long-term usage of NSS can be ineffective and result in health problems.

Kishtwar High Altitude National Park is situated in Jammu and Kashmir. A camera trap recently recorded the presence of snow leopard in this national park.
This sanctuary has an altitude range of 1700 to 4800 Metres, providing a natural habitat to various species of mammals and of birds.

Nobel laureate Robert E Lucas has recently passed away at the age of 85. He was an American economist at the University of Chicago.
Dr. Lucas, the recipient of the 1995 Nobel Prize in economic sciences, was best known for his role in developing a concept called the theory of rational expectations approach in macroeconomics.

As part of the Operation Dhvast, a massive day-long operation was conducted by the National Investigation Agency.
This operation was conducted in 8 states in terrorist-gangster-drug smugglers nexus cases, along with Haryana Police and Punjab Police.

The Kerala Cabinet has recently approved the ordinance amending the Kerala Healthcare Service Persons and Healthcare Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage to Property) Act, 2012.
The ordinance includes a strict penal provision against perpetrators of violence against hospitals.
