Nathuram Mirdha was a six-time Member of Lok Sabha and served as a Union Minister from 1979-80 and 1989-90.

In the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup being held at Baku in Azerbaijan, Indian pair Divya TS and Sarabjot Singh won gold in the 10m air pistol mixed team event.
The Indian pair defeated the Serbian legends Damir Mikec and Zorana Arunovic in the final match. It was a second ISSF World Cup gold for Sarabjot who had won the individual air pistol in Bhopal in March this year.

Amy Pope of the United States was recently elected as the direct general of the International Organization for Migration.
She is the first woman to take up this position in the organisation in its more than 70-year-old history. USA is the largest bilateral donor of the International Organization for Migration.

U.S.-India initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET) was launched in May 2022. The first-ever meeting of the Strategic Trade Dialogue to implement the outcomes of the US-India initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology is set to be held shortly.
This meeting is expected to help streamline export controls, improve high-tech commerce and facilitate tech transfer between countries.

The Association for Democratic Reforms recently released the report titled ‘Analysis of Sources of Funding of Regional Parties of India, FY 2021-22’.
According to this report, more than three-fourth of the income of regional parties came from unknown sources in 2021-22.

Non-kinetic warfare, also known as the contactless warfare, is the action against an adversary without a direct conventional military action.
Defence Rajnath Singh said the concept of non-kinetic warfare has highlighted the need for advanced technology in the defence sector.

Two tigresses captured recently in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur by the forest department will be released into the Navegaon Nagzira Tiger Reserve (NNTR), as part of a tiger translocation programme.

According to a report by the WMO, global temperatures are predicted to reach record highs within the next five years, with at least one year becoming the warmest on record.
The report also highlights a 66% likelihood of the annual average near-surface global temperature exceeding 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels for at least one year between 2023 and 2027.

The grouping issued a special “Hiroshima Vision Statement on Nuclear Disarmament”. The G-7 members issued a separate statement on Ukraine, hitting Russia with more sanctions.
