European Union’s ‘Fit for 55 Package’ is a set of proposals to revise and update the European Union Legislation and launch new initiatives to achieve the reduction of carbon emissions by 55 percent by 2030 compared to a 1990 benchmark.
As part of this package, changes were made to the EU’s Emissions Trading System to bring down emissions in the industrial sector.

The World Health Organization (WHO) launched the Preparedness and Resilience for Emerging Threats (PRET) Initiative.
This initiative will ensure better preparedness against future outbreaks like the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative was announced at the Global Meeting for Future Respiratory Pathogen Pandemics held in Geneva.

The Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) or bio-jet fuel is used to power aircraft with minimum carbon footprint.
Recently, the Indian Institute of Petroleum has tied up with Indigo, Spicejet and the three Tata Airlines to support the production of the SAF.

Jagananna Chebudam scheme is an upgraded version of the public grievance redressal Spandana program. It will be launched on May 9 by the Andhra Pradesh Government.
The event is an upgraded version of Spandana program. New redressal helpline 1092 has additional features like inputs on government schemes or sharing a message directly to the Chief Minister.
