The World Bank has released the “World Development Report 2023: Migrants, Refugees, and Societies”.
According to this report, around 184 million people across the globe lack citizenship to the country in which they live. The report proposes a framework to maximize the development impacts of cross-border movements on both destination and origin countries.

Scientists of NASA have observed seismic waves traveling through Mars’ core for the first time, using which they have predicted the composition of the planet’s core. The seismic data was collected by the NASA InSight lander.
The data reveals that, Mars core is filled with liquid iron-alloy core with high percentages of sulphur and oxygen.

The Air Pollution Tolerance Index is a tool used to assess the tolerance capacity of a crop or tree species against air pollution. A new study has found that certain trees and crops endemic to India have high APTI.
Trees such as pipal, neem, mango and crops like maize, pigeon pea and safflower, which are endemic to India can help lower the impact of air pollution by absorbing and filtering pollutants.

Piarosoma arunachalensis is a new species of moth found at the Tale Wildlife Sanctuary in Arunachal Pradesh.
This discovery records the first-time spotting of a species belonging to the Piarosoma genus in India and it is the 12^th species across the world.

The City Beauty Competition portal was launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs to encourage and recognize the efforts taken by cities and wards to create beautiful and inclusive public spaces.
The wards and public spaces in cities would be adjudged in the competition based on the five broad pillars – accessibility, amenities, activities, aesthetics and ecology.

During the meeting of the 12-member Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) of the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, proposal to construct Muthamizh Arignar Dr. Kalaignar pen monument in the Bay of Bengal was cleared.
The monument is expected to be 30 meter high and spread over nearly 8,551 square metres. The offshore memorial is planned to be built on the memory of the late DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi.

Sultan Al-Neyadi, a UAE astronaut, recently became the first Arab to undertake a spacewalk by venturing out of the ISS. The spacewalk lasted for around seven hours in the vacuum of space.
The 41-year-old was one of the first two astronauts from the United Arab Emirates, along with Hazza Al Mansouri.
