Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) was launched to organize traditional industries and artisans into clusters, which will make them competitive and increase their income.
Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Nitin Gadkari has recently inaugurated 50 artisan-based SFURTI clusters across 18 States. The Union MSME Ministry has funded Rs 85 crore for development of these SFURTI clusters.

As per the recent study by NASA and German Aerospace Center, some microbes are found on the Earth may survive in the Mars.
The researchers tested a new way to expose the bacteria and fungi to Mars-like conditions by launching them in a scientific balloon up to Earth’s stratosphere. This is significant in the success of future missions to the Mars.

The Horticulture Department of Karnataka has collaborated with International Flower Auction Bangalore, to set up a flower processing centre.
This centre is aimed to convert unsold flowers into value added and useful products like floral papers, incense sticks, flower petal powder, floral embedded works etc.

The Union Cabinet approved a proposal to impose President’s Rule in Puducherry. Earlier, the Congress-led Government in the Union territory lost power during a vote of confidence.
The Cabinet took the decision as no party came forward to stake claim to form the government in the UT, following the resignation of the Chief minister V Narayanasamy. After the Lieutenant Governor had recommended President’s Rule, the Cabinet has approved the same.

President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the world’s largest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad, which will now be known as ‘Narendra Modi stadium’.
The Motera Stadium was named after the Prime Minster while the entire sports complex continues to be named after Sardar Patel. It has a seating capacity of 132,000 spectators.

The Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) is an international agreement between all the member countries of the World Trade Organization (WTO)
India as well as South Africa have proposed the WTO to consider the TRIPS waiver on COVID-19 vaccines. If India succeeds in getting the waiver, it will reduce the cost of vaccines significantly and facilitate free flow of medicines and easy technology transfer across the world.

The second edition of Khelo India Winter Games is being held in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
This is an annual event which is organised by the J&K Sports Council in association with the J&K Winter Games Association under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. This function was inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a virtual mode.

The Chief Minister of Karnataka B.S. Yediyurappa has recently launched the ‘Namma Cargo’ service in the state.
Under this initiative, the state road transport corporation buses would carry cargo parcels to generate additional revenue to the state. This is being implemented in 109 bus stations in Karnataka and select locations of neighbouring states.

The Prime Minster of India Narendra Modi has inaugurated India’s first of its kind “India Toy Fair 2021”. This is a virtual exhibition that is being held from 27th Feb to 2nd March.
It enables the users to not only buy toys but also participate in events, activities and network with the various stakeholders of the Toy Industry.

Indian boxer Deepak Kumar has won the silver medal at the 72nd Strandja Memorial Tournament, recently held in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Deepak Kumar was a silver medal winner of the Asian Games, and a former India Open gold-medallist.
