French billionaire politician Olivier Dassault recently died in a helicopter crash occurred in northwest France.
He was also a member of the National Assembly of the country. He was a descendant of the Dassault aircraft-making family. The Dassault Aviation group is a leading French plane manufacturer. He was estimated to be the 361st most wealthy person on the planet.

Ministry of Home Affairs launched the ‘National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal’ in 2019, to provide a centralised mechanism for online reporting of cybercrime incidents.
Recently, the Union Home Ministry announced that a total of 3,17,439 cybercrimes and 5,771 FIRs were registered online through the portal in the last 18 months. Maharashtra and Karnataka registered a significant number of cases

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has recently inaugurated the World Skill Centre (WSC) at Mancheswar.
India’s first skill centre, the WSC is developed at an outlay of Rs 1,342 crore with support from the Asian Development Bank under the Odisha Skill Development Project. It aims to impart advanced and employable skills to the youth in the state.

Former Central Bank of India CEO Pallav Mohapatra has been appointed as chief of Asset Reconstruction Co India Ltd (ARCIL).
ARCIL is India’s oldest asset reconstruction company, and it was founded in 2002. Pallav Mohapatra is succeeding Vinayak Bahuguna as the CEO.

Notes:
Udupi Ramachandra Rao, also known as India’s Missile Man, was born in Karnataka on March 10, 1932. He was a scientist in ISRO and had also served as its chairman.
He commenced his career in ISRO as an apprentice under Dr.Vikram Sarabhai. He supervised the launch of India’s first satellite – Aryabhatta.

The endangered Olive Ridley female turtles have started arriving at the Gahirmatha beach in Odisha state.
It is said to be the world’s largest known rookery of these species to lay eggs. This phenomenon of converging on the nesting ground for mass laying of eggs is otherwise called ”Arribada” in Spanish. Last year, around 4.50 lakh turtles turned up in the beach for mass nesting.

The ICAR – Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research (llSR) is located in Lucknow, in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) and Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) have granted a conditional exemption to IISR to use drones. The institute would conduct trials to evaluate drone spraying solution for controlling pest and diseases of sugarcane crop using drones.

Tirath Singh Rawat has been sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Uttarakhand after his predecessor Trivendra Singh Rawat resigned.
He is a BJP MP from Garhwal constituency and was the party chief of the state from the year 2013 to 2015. He was the first education minister of the state.

Union Minister for Railways, Piyush Goyal flagged off the 3000 HP Cape gauge locomotives to Mozambique via video conferencing.
The locomotives are indigenously developed by Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), Varanasi. This export is a part of the total order of six locomotives of 3000 HP cape gauge and 90 stainless steel passenger coaches to Mozambique.

As per the recent report from the Bank of America Securities India, the Reserve Bank of India has achieved a consumer price index averaging 3.9% during October 2016-March 2020.
The monetary policy framework was fixed by the RBI before five years as inflation target of 4 per cent with a 2% deviation. It is set to review the framework for the first time in 5 years.
