The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has launched the field assessment for 6th edition of the Swachh Survekshan 2021.
The Swachh Survekshan commenced in the year 2016 as a competition enhancing framework to encourage cities to achieve high standards of sanitation under the Swatch Bharat Mission.

ARMEX-21 is a major skiing expedition launched by the Indian Army from Karakoram Pass in Ladakh to Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand, covering around 1,500 km distance. This comes to close proximity with the LAC in Ladakh, Himachal, Garhwal and Kumaon sectors. The expedition comes amid border tensions between India and China.

The Ministry of Housing and Housing Affairs (MoHUA) has launched the field assessment of Swachh Survekshan, 2021. It is the sixth edition of this annual cleanliness survey which is conducted by the Government of India.
The Swachh Survekshan 2021 was introduced by the MoHUA in the year 2016. It was launched as a competitive framework in a bid to encourage the cities to improve their status of the urban sanitation.

International Waste Pickers’ Day is observed on March 1 to mark the Colombian massacre that led to the brutal death of 11 workers. This day seeks to give voice and recognition to waste pickers/recyclers across the world.
During this occasion, a new report released by the Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives (GAIA) highlighted the role of informal recyclers in enabling transition towards zero waste systems and the overall economic recovery.

Maritime India Vision 2030 is a 10-year strategy with the objective of revamping the Indian maritime sector. It seeks to attract Rs.3 lakh crore investment and generate employment for 20 lakh individuals.
The plan also seeks to augment the annual revenue potential worth Rs.20,000 crore from major ports.

The government has recently notified comprehensive amendments to the Insurance Ombudsman Rules, 2017.
As per the amendments, the insurance brokers are brought within the ambit of the Government. It also allowed policyholders to file online complaints. The scope of complaints also include deficiencies in service by insurers, agents, brokers and other intermediaries.

Surya Prakash Committee is a panel appointed by the Rajya Sabha Chairman in consultation with the Lok Sabha Speaker to work out modalities regarding the two channels of the Parliament- RSTV and LSTV.
The committee had suggested that the Parliament have a single channel by merging the two. It also suggested the use of 2 platforms for broadcast in Hindi and English.

ShadowPad is a malware that is alleged to be behind the October blackout in Mumbai. It has been linked to Chinese cyberattacks in the past too.
It was discovered in the year 2017. It was found injected into software updates by NetSarang, a legitimate software provider.

Notes:
The World Health Organisation (WHO) released the first World Report on Hearing recently. It was launched ahead of World Hearing Day on March 3.
As per the report, nearly 2.5 billion people worldwide, which is almost 1 in 4 people, will be living with some degree of hearing loss by 2050. The report also warns that at least 700 million of these people will require access to hearing care and rehabilitation services.
