American Aerospace company Boeing has developed a pilotless, fighter-like jet prototype in Australia called the ‘Loyal Wingman”. The aircraft made its first flight recently.
This model is to be used as the basis for its U.S. Air Force Skyborg prototype. It is also the first military aircraft to be designed and manufactured in Australia in more than 50 years.

India is sending a consignment of rice and hydroxychloroquine tablets to the drought-hit east African country in Madagascar.
The humanitarian assistance is being delivered on-board Indian Naval Ship (INS) Jalashwa, which will leave with the food and medical assistance and is expected to reach the Port of Ehoala in Madagascar by the third week of March.

National Agriculture Disaster Management Plan (NADMP) seeks to guide the Union Agriculture Ministry in ensuring timely response to natural disasters like drought, floods and sudden crisis like COVID-19 pandemic.
It identifies 34 hazards posing threats to the agriculture sector. These include heat waves, earthquakes, animal attacks, desertification, agricultural fires, cyclones and overdependence on chemicals.

The Governor of Haryana, Satyadev Narayan Arya, has approved a bill to reserve 75 per cent jobs in Private sector jobs for the people of the state.
Reservation will be provided in every company, trust and society. Thus, the “Haryana State Employment of Local Candidates Act, 2020” has now come into force in the state of Haryana from March 2, 2020.

Pharohylaeus lactiferous is a rare species of native Australian bee that was recently spotted along the east coast of Australia. It was last spotted a century ago in 1923 in Queensland and only 6 individuals have ever been found.
The invertebrate is threatened by wildfires, land fragmentation and climate change.

The Odisha government is set to begin its first state survey of the social and educational conditions of people from backward classes.
In the state there are nearly 209 communities identified as socially and educationally backward classes (SEBCs). The classes comprise around 54 per cent of the state’s population. A proposal by the Odisha State Commission for Backward Classes (OSCBC) was approved in this regard.

The European Commission is to introduce a Digital Green Pass on March 17, when a summit focusing on travel and mobility will take place.
The Digital Green Pass will have information related to vaccination, test results and statements of recovery. The objective of this initiative is to enable safe opening of Europe and ensure safe movement in the European Union or abroad.

Simlipal biosphere reserve comprises of the Simlipal national park cum tiger reserve along with its adjoining areas.
It is located in the eastern end of the Eastern Ghats, in Odisha. The name ‘Simlipal’ is derived from ‘Simul’ meaning silk cotton tree. Recently, there was a wildfire in the National Park and is raging for nearly a week.

Start-up placement firm Vahan launched a WhatsApp API (application programming interface) enabled chatbot called ‘Mitra’.
Using the chatbot, the company has reached 1 lakh milestone in providing employment opportunities to over 1 lakh blue collared professionals and a large number of grey collared professionals.

OPCW or Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons is the international chemical weapons watchdog, headquartered in The Hague, the Netherlands.
It is the implementing body for the Chemical Weapons Convention. It also oversees the global effort to eliminate the use of chemical weapons.
