The Union Ministry for women and Child Development is celebrating Poshan Pakhwada for the year 2021 from 16th to 31st March this year.
The key focus during this year’s Poshan Pakhwada would be Addressing nutritional challenges through Food Forestry. The Poshan Abhiyaan is the ministry’s flagship scheme launched by the Prime Minister on 8th March 2018.

Girl Gang, a track by New Zealand singer Gin Wigmore, has been recently announced as the official song of the 2022 ICC Women’s World Cup.
The tournament is set to be hosted in New Zealand from March 4 to April 3, this year. Though the tournament was scheduled to be held in February 2021, it was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

INSACOG stands for Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium. It has been set up by the Government of India for surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 across the country.
The consortium is made up of 10 Regional Genome Sequencing Laboratories (RGSLs) present in Bhubaneswar, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and New Delhi.

As per a recent data released by Bloomberg, during the current financial year 2020-21, Indian stocks gained the most among the top 10 economies of the world.
Bloomberg data shows that India’s aggregate market capitalization moved by b 88% in dollar terms. This has been achieved amidst turmoil in market conditions due to COVID 19 pandemic.

‘Hola Mohalla’ is the annual Sikh festival celebrated in the state of Punjab. This year, it is scheduled to be celebrated from March 24 to March 29.
Kiratpur Sahib and Anandpur Sahib are the two venues selected for the celebration of the festival. It will attract lakhs of devotees and tourists from different parts of the country as well as the world. On the last day, there will be a procession and display of martial arts by Nihang Sikhs.

Manyamkonda Jatara is an interstate religious festival of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. This festival involves shifting idols from Odisha to Andhra at Polluru village in Mothugudem mandal of East Godavari District.
Incidents of untoward incidents and left-wing extremisms have been reported in the past during this festival. But, due to abundant precautionary measures, this year’s festival went on peacefully.

Every year on 24th March, World Tuberculosis Day is observed. The theme for World TB day 2021 is “’Clock is Ticking”, which conveys the message that word needs to act urgently to end TB.
Countries across the world including India have aimed to end TB completely by 2025.

Mahatma Gandhi visited Odisha for the first time in the year 1921 (100 years ago) and had addressed a massive gathering of people as a part of his non-cooperation movement.
To commemorate this event, a commemorative postage stamp on ‘100 years of first visit of Mahatma Gandhi to Odisha’ has been released recently.

As per a recent report from SBI’s research team authored by the bank’s chief economic adviser, Soumya Kanti Ghosh, the duration of second wave might last up to 100 days counted from 15 February.
Though India is currently seeing a spike in daily coronavirus cases, the report said that that we are in better place this time to control the pandemic with vaccines being administered. The report also revealed that increasing the speed of vaccination is the only way to fight COVID-19.

The Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has invited applications for Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship. This has been made in association with 9 Indian Institute of Management (IIMs).
It is a 2-year program consisting of both classroom events at IIMs and an opportunity to promote skill planning and development in district economies.
