Notes:
As per the recent notification of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, a one cm green sticker, providing registration details will be affixed in all BS 6 compliant motor vehicles.
The order is expected to come force from October 1, 2020. Last year, it was announced that all motor vehicles will be fitted with tamper-proof, high security registration plates (HSRP). This green strip will be fixed at the top in the HSRP on the inside of the windshield. This is in addition to the light blue sticker for petrol or CNG and orange sticker for diesel vehicle.

The Indian Air Force has designed, developed and inducted a transportation system named Airborne Rescue Pod for Isolated Transportation (ARPIT).
ARPIT will be utilised to evacuate critical patients with infectious diseases including COVID-19 from high altitude and remote places. The cost of this indigenously designed system is Rs 60000, as compared to the imported air evacuation system priced at several lakhs. As of now, the Indian Air Force is inducting 7 ARPITS.

The president of the UN General Assembly is Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, who is a Nigerian diplomat. He had also served as the Vice President of UNGA.
Tijjani Muhammad-Bande has recently announced that world leaders will not be arriving in New York for their annual gathering in late September. This happens for the first time in the 75-year history of the UN due to the restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic. The 193 heads of state and government will give speeches during the General Debate, the process of which will be announced.

Pune-based Defence Institute of Advanced Technology in Pune has developed a nano-technology based disinfectant spray named ‘ANANYA’ to combat Covid-19.
The formulation is effective in disinfecting all types of surfaces, including masks, PPEs, hospital linens, medical instruments. It can also be used to disinfect common places like elevator buttons and door knobs. The material has been developed by synthesising silver nanoparticles and a commercially available drug, Ampicillin. Commercial production is to be commenced soon.

Social media giant Twitter has recently launched a new test feature named ‘Fleets’ in India, which allows users post messages that would disappear after 24 hours.
This feature is similar to the ‘stories’ feature introduced on Instagram or Facebook. However, Fleets do not have features such as likes, retweets, or public replies. Twitter has introduced the fleets in India after Brazil and Italy. This will be available on the latest version of the Twitter application.

The Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) has sought special proposals from Amazon for selling masks and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits.
Since a huge market has been formed for masks across the world particularly among all fashion brands, several Indian players have started exporting non-medical and designer masks. The exporters are also exploring measures of getting international certifications needed to export to other countries.

Global ratings agency Fitch Ratings has estimated that India’s economy would bounce back with a steep growth rate of 9.5 per cent in the next fiscal year.
Earlier, Fitch ratings had forecasted that the GDP growth of India would contract at 5 percent in the ongoing fiscal year starting April 2020. It has also highlighted that 9.5 % growth is possible only if the country avoids further deterioration in financial sector health.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has reconstituted a committee to look into the welfare of freedom fighters.
Minister of state for home affairs G Kishan Reddy has been named the Chairman of the committee, which also has nine eminent freedom fighters from across the country as its members. Home Ministry has another division which disburses pension to about 30,000 freedom fighters and their families.

Notes:
The state government of Haryana has announced that it would construct 1,000 water recharge bores in underground water deficient areas of the state.
The programme seeks to recharge underground water with rainfall. Announcing this programme, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that 90 percent of the cost of the bore project will be borne by the government and the remaining 10 percent by the farmers.

Notes:
The Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik had earlier announced that the state would provide an incentive of Rs 2000 per migrant after successful completion of quarantine period.
Recently, the proposed incentives have been paid to 1,10,080 people, as per the Health and Family Welfare Department of the state. For this incentive disbursal, ₹19.03 crore have been spent from the Chief Minister Relief Fund.
