Invest India was set up as a non-profit venture under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry in 2009.
It focusses on sector-specific investor targeting and develops new partnerships for investments in India. Recently, the Minister of Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal launched the Food Processing Edition of the Exclusive Investment Forum, designed by Invest India.

World Olympic Day or the International Olympic Day is celebrated across the world on June 23. It was introduced in 1948 to commemorate the birth of the modern Olympic Games on 23 June 1894.
The objective of celebrating the Olympic Day was to promote participation in sports and games across the globe, regardless of age, gender, or other abilities. This year, the world’s largest 24 hour digital-first Olympic workout is organised, to celebrate the day virtually. The campaign is named ‘Stay Healthy, Stay Strong, Stay Active with the #Olympicday Workout On 23 June’.

The United States President Donald Trump has recently suspended H-1B, H-2B, J, L and other temporary work permits.
The suspension will be effective till December 31, as per the recent announcement from the White House. The President announced that the entry of additional workers through these temporary Visa programs presents a threat to employment opportunities for Americans affected by the economic damages caused by COVID-19 pandemic.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) is an UN agency created to support the relief and human development of Palestinian refugees. Its headquarters is located in Amman, Jordan.
Recently, India has pledged contributing 10 million US dollar to the UNWRA over the next two years. This was announced during the Extraordinary Virtual Ministerial Pledging Conference for UNRWA. This year, India has already disbursed two million dollars and will soon remit the balance three million dollars. India also provides 250 annual scholarships to Palestinian youth and officials.

Former England captain and present Managing Director of women’s cricket England Cricket Board, Clare Connor is set to become the first female president of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in its 233-year history.
The current President of MCC, Sri Lanka’s veteran cricketer Kumar Sangakkara named Clare Connor as the next Chief, during Annual General Meeting. Sangakkara is to step down from the top position next year. Clare Connor was made an Honorary Life Member of MCC in 2009.

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan released the Annual Tuberculosis (TB) Report 2020, through video conferencing.
Gujarat was ranked the top performing state in eradicating Tuberculosis, in the category of large states with more than 50 lakh populations. It is followed by Andhra Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh. In the category of small states, Nagaland and Tripura have been awarded the best performing states.

Liverpool, the professional football club based in Liverpool, England, has recently won the Premier League title, with seven games left to play.
The Liverpool team was confirmed as Champions after thirty years, since they held the title in 1989-90. In this season, Liverpool have an irrefutable 23-point lead over Manchester City. In the last 12 months Liverpool have won the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and World Club Cup.

The Chief Minister of Gujarat has launched a new initiative called “At One Click”, to aid MSMEs and Textile Industries.
An aid of Rs 1,369 crore for micro small and medium enterprises and textile industries was launched during the session. ”At One Click” is an online cash aid initiative aims to cover 13,000 MSMEs in Gujarat, by providing financial assistance directly in their bank accounts.

The Union Government has announced the launch of Taxable Floating Rate Savings Bonds, 2020, that will be available for subscription for retail investors from July 1, 2020.
The bonds are issued by the Reserve Bank of India on behalf of the Government, replacing the recently withdrawn 7.75% bonds. The interest rate on these bonds will be reset every six months while the initial rate of interest is fixed at 7.15 per cent. The bonds shall be repayable on the expiration of seven years from the date of issue.

Minister of Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has laid the foundation stone for “Sanskritik Sadbhav Mandap” at Rampur, Uttar Pradesh.
The centre is being constructed with the cost of Rs 92 crore by Union Minority Affairs Ministry under Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karykram (PMJVK). This community centre will be utilized for various socio-economic-cultural activities, skill development training and relief activities.
