Notes:
The PM CARES Fund Trust has allocated Rs 2000 crore for supply of 50000 ‘Made-in-India’ ventilators to government-run COVID hospitals in all States and UTs.
Out of the 50,000 ventilators ordered, 30,000 ventilators are being manufactured by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). The remaining ventilators are being jointly manufactured by other Indian companies including AgVa Healthcare and AMTZ Basic among others. Maharashtra, Delhi and Gujarat received maximum out of 1340 ventilators distributed.

Notes:
The United States President Donald Trump has recently suspended H-1B, H-2B, J, L and other temporary work permits.
The suspension will be effective till December 31, as per the recent announcement from the White House. The President announced that the entry of additional workers through these temporary Visa programs presents a threat to employment opportunities for Americans affected by the economic damages caused by COVID-19 pandemic.

Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister has approved a scheme for interest subvention of 2% to all Shishu loan accounts under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY).
The subvention is applicable to eligible borrowers, for a period of 12 months. The scheme will incentivize people who will make regular repayments of loans. The estimated cost of the Scheme would be approximately Rs. 1542 crore, which would be provided by the Union Government. Loans for activities up to Rs. 50,000 are termed as Shishu loans.

Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh has recently inaugurated two important Bridges Devika and Puneja in Jammu and Kashmir, virtually.
The 10-meter-long Devika Bridge inaugurated in Udhampur district, was constructed in about one-year time span by the Border Roads Organisation. The cost of construction of the bridge is Rs 75 lakhs. Another bridge named Puneja has also been inaugurated at a cost of Rs 4 Crore in Doda District.

Republic of Mali, a country in West Africa, has awarded Project Management Consultancy contract to NTPC, for development of 500 MW Solar Park.
The contract has been provided at an event hosted by International Solar Alliance (ISA) in the Ministry of Renewable Energy, New Delhi. NTPC is a central Public Sector Unit under the Ministry of Power. In the year 2019, ISA authorized NTPC as a Project Management Consultant. Earlier the Republic of Togo partnered with NTPC for development of 285 MW Solar Park in Togo.

Haritha Haram is a tree-planting program implemented by Telangana to increase the amount of tree cover in the state.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has recently launched the sixth phase of Haritha Haram programme. He also inaugurated the Narsapur Urban Forest Park and examined the Forest revival programme being implemented in Narsapur forest area.

The United Nations has launched the “Alliance for Poverty Eradication”. India has recently become a founding member of the Alliance.
The President of the 74th Session of the UN General Assembly Tijjani Muhammad-Bande announced the alliance in an informal meeting. He will formally launch the ‘Alliance for Poverty Eradication’ on June 30, which aims to provide a platform for member states to boost global economy after the effects of COVID-19 pandemic.

Monaco-based World Athletics has launched ‘Road to Tokyo’, an online tool to track the qualification process for next year’s Olympic Games.
The Tokyo Olympics were postponed in March and is scheduled to be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021. The qualification system is adapted to fit in the new dates of the games. The online tool will provide a real time view of each event during the Tokyo 2020 qualification period which ends on June 29, 2021.

The Chief Minister of Gujarat has launched a new initiative called “At One Click”, to aid MSMEs and Textile Industries.
An aid of Rs 1,369 crore for micro small and medium enterprises and textile industries was launched during the session. ”At One Click” is an online cash aid initiative aims to cover 13,000 MSMEs in Gujarat, by providing financial assistance directly in their bank accounts.

Notes:
The state government of Madhya Pradesh has formed a dedicated commission to create employment opportunities for the migrant labourers.
Named as the Madhya Pradesh State Migrant Labourer Commission (MPSMLC), it aims to create jobs to those who have returned from other parts of the country during the Covid 19-induced lockdown. The state government will nominate the chairman of the commission, which will suggest measures for the welfare of migrant labourers.
