The Andaman and Nicobar Command handed over the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island to Andaman and Nicobar Administration for development of tourism and infrastructure growth.
The island, erstwhile known as Ross Island, is situated three kilometers away from Port Blair. It also houses India’s first solar lighthouse. NITI Ayog and Island Development Agency has taken several initiatives to develop these Islands under Act East Policy.

Tunisia passed a referendum on a new constitution that gives its President almost unlimited powers. Tunisia’s President Kais Saied celebrated the victory of the referendum after favourable exit poll.
Tunisia, or the Republic of Tunisia, is the northern-most country in Africa and its capital is Tunis.

The Department of Posts has invited applications from eligible students for the ‘Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana’.
The students, who are in Class 6 to 9, have interest in philately and have good academic record, can apply for the scholarship. Those students would be selected by the postal department through a quiz and projects of philately for an annual scholarship of Rs 6,000.

Russia has decided to quit the International Space Station after 2024, as per the newly-appointed chief of Moscow’s space agency.
Russia and the United States have worked on the ISS, which has been in orbit since the year 1998. Some of the key accomplishments of the Soviet space programme are sending the first man into space in 1961 and launching the first satellite four years earlier.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has joined India-led Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) to limit the damages caused by climate change.
EIB will work in association with national governments, UN agencies, multilateral development banks and private sector to promote the rapid development of infrastructure resilient to climate change and natural disasters. CDRI was launched at the UN Climate Action Summit in 2019 at the initiative of India.

Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India (ECGC) has introduced a new scheme to provide enhanced export credit risk insurance cover up to 90% to support small exporters.
This cover is provided under the Export Credit Insurance for Banks Whole Turnover Packaging Credit and Post Shipment (ECIB- WTPC & PS).  The scheme would benefit small-scale exporters availing of export credit with banks and to diversify their existing portfolio.

According to the Expat Insider 2022 survey by InterNations, Mexico, Indonesia, and Taiwan are the overall three best countries for expats to live and work abroad.
The survey, with nearly 12,000 respondents in 52 destinations, offers information on satisfaction of expats in various factors like Quality of Life, Ease of Settling In, Working Abroad among others. For the first time, the ranking also includes the Expat Essentials Index.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his condolences after the demise of veteran Assamese writer Atulanada Goswami.
He was a noted Assamese litterateur and winner of Sahitya Akademi Award. The writer made great efforts to popularise Assamese literature in English.

The Eleventh Agricultural Census (2021-22) was recently launched by the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar.
Agriculture Census is conducted every 5 years in India and this is the first time the data collection will be conducted on smart phones and tablets. Agricultural Census is the main source of information on the number and area of ​​operational holdings, their size, class-wise distribution, land use, tenancy and cropping pattern, etc.

The Kerala Labour Department is set to launch its own e-taxi service named ‘Kerala Savari’. The online taxi hiring service will serve as an alternative to popular corporate online cab services.
This is considered to be the first such initiative by any state government in the country. The state will link the existing auto-taxi networks in the state to ensure safe travel for the public at affordable rates.
