The Union Environment Ministry directed to constitute a ‘Project screening committee’ in each state/UT with five members.
According to the Forest (Conservation) Rules, 2022, will meet at least twice every month and will advise the state governments on projects in a time bound manner, the rules state. The Committee is to be formed for an initial review of proposals involving diversion of forest land.

According to the Hurun India Future Unicorn Index 2022, Bengaluru continues to be the start-up capital of India, with 46 probable Unicorns.
It is followed by Delhi NCR (25) and Mumbai (16). As per the index, India will have 122 new unicorns in the next two to four years.

Peter Brook, one of the greatest theatre directors of the 20th century, passed away recently at the age of 97.
He is also regarded as one of the world’s most innovative theatre directors. He was known for staging Peter Weiss’s “Marat/Sade” and Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”. He is known for bringing nine-hour adaptation of the Sanskrit epic “The Mahabharata” from France to New York in 1987.

The UK has signed its first international data sharing deal with South Korea after Brexit to promote digital trade.
The deal will allow organisations in both the countries to transfer data without any restrictions. Google, Mastercard and Microsoft were advising the UK government on this deal as part of an International Data Transfer Expert Council.

The Chhattisgarh government approved its Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2022 to make the state an EV-manufacturing hub and create employment.
The government has set a target of five years for having EVs accounting for 15 per cent of the new registrations of vehicles. The state government will reimburse 100 per cent state SGST and registration fees on sales of electric buses and electric goods carriages during the five-year policy period.

Salesforce announced USD 2 million in grant to over 22 non-profits across India for education and workforce development in the country.
Using the grants, students will have access to Hybrid learning spaces, Social Emotional Learning, STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and early education.

World Health Organisation (WHO) announced that two suspected cases of the Marburg virus disease have been detected in Ghana. The samples of the two patients, who died later, turned positive.
According to the WHO, Marburg is a highly infectious viral haemorrhagic fever in the same family as the well-known Ebola virus disease.

A contingent from the IAF has participated the Tactical Leadership Programme (TLP) at Cairo West Air base.
This programme is taking place at the Egyptian Air Force (EAF) Weapon School in Egypt. It was part of the Egyptian Navy’s joint training programmes with global navies to further enhance the combat capabilities of its personnel.

Union Minister for Mines Pralhad Joshi inaugurated the 6th National Conclave on Mines and Minerals in New Delhi.
The conclave has been organized as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Union Home Minister Amit Shah presented ‘Rashtriya Khanij Vikas Puraskar’ and other awards in different categories at the conclave.

The Meghalaya has launched a roadmap to invest in early childhood education programmes, to revamp elementary education in Meghalaya.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma announced that the government has earmarked Rs 300 crore from externally aided projects to make investment in early childhood education programmes.
