The Padma Multipurpose Bridge, the longest bridge in Bangladesh, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in June 2022.
The 6.15-km-long Padma Multipurpose Bridge, constructed at a cost of nearly USD 3.87 billion is one of the largest projects Bangladesh has ever undertaken. After World Bank withdrew from funding the project, Bangladesh opted for self-funding.

The Polish government honoured the maharajas of Jamnagar and Kolhapur and others who sheltered Polish refugees fleeing the Soviet Union invasion of Poland during World War II.
The Indian government sent a delegation of former royals and representatives of Kolhapur and Jamnagar to Poland.

Akasa Air is a start-up carrier, promoted by veteran stock market investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala. The airline which got Air Operator Certificate from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), will start services in late July.
It is an Indian low-cost airline headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Scientists from Argentina have discovered a new giant carnivorous dinosaur species named ‘Meraxes gigas’.
The dinosaur, which resembles Tyrannosaurus rex, has been named after a fictional dragon in the Game of Thrones book series. The dinosaur species is found to have had a massive head and tiny arms.

The 10^th edition of ‘World Peace Forum’ was recently organized by Tsinghua University, in Beijing, China.
India’s Ambassador to China Pradeep Kumar Rawat participated in the forum. He participated in the ‘BRICS Cooperation: Opportunities and Challenges’.

Delhi government launched ‘Mission Kushal Karmi’ to upgrade the skills of construction workers. It was launched with the help of Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) and Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
The government aims to train 2 lakh workers in a year under this programme. To compensate for the loss of wages during the training, all the construction workers will be provided with an amount of Rs 4,200 each.

Kanaganahalli is an ancient Buddhist site on the bank of Bhima River in Kalaburagi district of the state of Karnataka.
It forms a part of the Sannati site. Archaeological Survey of India has now taken up conservation work at this Buddhist site.

Union Health Ministry signed MoU with the Union Panchayati Raj Ministry, with the aim to eliminate Tuberculosis in India.
The MoU will forge inter-Ministerial collaboration and strategic partnerships with the aim to achieving the target of eliminating TB in India by 2025. It aims to create mass awareness in rural areas to end stigma and discrimination associated with TB.

Information and Broadcasting Ministry unveiled new logo of country’s Public Service Broadcaster, Prasar Bharati.
Prasar Bharati is a statutory autonomous body set up by an act of Parliament and comprises Doordarshan and All India Radio. The new logo is also a blend of both the organisations. The map of India signifies the service of trust and the dark moderate blue colour represents both sky and sea.

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) released a report on ‘Cost-of-Living Crisis in Developing Countries’. It shows that inflation will have only negligible impact on poverty in India.
As per the report, targeted transfers help poorer households cope with price spikes. In India, targeted and time-bound transfers of food and cash were given to the vulnerable through PMGKAY and PMGKY.
