QNu Labs Raises ₹200 Crore in Series A1 Round

Bengaluru-based QNu Labs announced a ₹200 crore Series A1 funding round on 9 September 2026. The round was co-led by the National Quantum Mission and Speciale Invest, and the company also secured ₹150 crore in convertible debt under the government’s Research, Development and Innovation fund.

QNu Labs and Quantum-Safe Cryptography

QNu Labs was co-founded in 2016 by Srinivasa Rao Aluri and Sunil Gupta. The company was incubated at IIT Madras and works in quantum-safe cryptography, which uses methods designed to resist attacks from quantum computers.

National Quantum Mission and Investor Participation

The National Quantum Mission contributed ₹25 crore through the IITM C-DOT Samgnya Technologies Foundation. Other participants in the round included Gaja Capital, Sony Innovation Fund, and Artha Ventures, and the total funding raised by the company reached ₹375 crore after the debt component.

Quantum Key Distribution Network

QNu Labs plans to build a 2,000-km live quantum key distribution network between Bengaluru and Delhi. Quantum key distribution, or QKD, is a secure communication method that uses quantum principles to distribute encryption keys.
