Reliance Industries, Meta Plan AI Data Centre in Jamnagar
Meta Platforms Inc. and Reliance Industries Ltd. announced an agreement on 10 June 2026 to build and lease an artificial intelligence data centre in India. Reliance Industries will construct a 168-megawatt AI-enabled facility in Jamnagar, Gujarat, and Meta will lease the capacity.
AI Data Centre and Built-to-Suit Model
The Jamnagar project is Meta’s first built-to-suit data centre capacity in India. The facility has an option for future expansion, and its delivery is expected within two years from the announcement date of 10 June 2026.
Role of Reliance Industries
Reliance Industries will act as a single-window solutions provider for the project. Its responsibilities include design, construction, utility management, renewable power supply, and network connectivity for the data centre.
Energy, Cooling and Infrastructure Features
The facility is planned to use renewable energy and desalinated seawater for cooling. Meta will cover the full cost of the energy and water required for the facility.
