PM to Release ₹18,880 Crore PM-KISAN Instalment
The Prime Minister is scheduled to release the 23rd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on 20 June 2026. An amount of ₹18,880 crore will be transferred directly into the bank accounts of more than 9.44 crore farmers across India.
PM-KISAN Scheme
PM-KISAN is a Central Sector scheme launched in February 2019. It provides income support of ₹6,000 per year to eligible farmer families in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each through Direct Benefit Transfer.
Disbursement Details
The latest instalment will be released in Tarakeswar in Hooghly district of West Bengal. More than 2.18 crore women farmers are expected to receive the benefit in this instalment. In West Bengal, over 45.35 lakh farmers will receive more than ₹907 crore under the same instalment. With this release, the total amount disbursed under PM-KISAN since February 2019 will cross ₹4.46 lakh crore.
Crop Insurance Schemes
On the same occasion, the Prime Minister will launch the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and the Restructured Weather-Based Crop Insurance Scheme (RWBCIS) in West Bengal. The combined outlay for these two schemes is about ₹12,200 crore. PMFBY was launched in 2016 as a crop insurance scheme for farmers against yield losses caused by natural calamities, pests and diseases. RWBCIS provides insurance cover for weather-related losses such as rainfall deficit, excess rainfall, temperature variation and humidity-related damage.
