Indore Gets India’s First Virtual Zoo

Indore in Madhya Pradesh has India’s first virtual zoo at the Kamala Nehru Prani Sangrahalaya, also known as the Indore Zoological Museum. The facility covers 8,000 square feet and was developed under a Public-Private Partnership model at an estimated cost of ₹4.5 crore.

Virtual Zoo and Immersive Display Systems

A virtual zoo is a technology-based attraction that uses digital projection, sound, motion, and special effects to simulate wildlife and forest environments. The Indore facility includes a 3-D dome theatre, a 14-D cinema, and a digital jungle safari for visitors.

14-D Cinema and Sensory Features

The 14-D theatre integrates 14 sensory effects for an immersive viewing experience. These effects include synchronised moving seats, wind blasts, water sprays, fog, bubbles, and physical vibrations.

Design Elements and Visitor Access

The venue includes a gorilla-shaped entrance gate, neon-lit 3D jungle pathways, a fibre-optic glow garden, a roar-simulating maze, and a mirror bridge with a Hanuman hologram. The attraction opened to the public on 17 August 2026, and the entry ticket was fixed at ₹70 per person.
