IIT Ropar Launches AVNI App for Agricultural Learning
IIT Ropar launched the digital learning platform AVNI – Grow with Nature on 6 October 2026 through its Centre of Excellence in AI for Digital Agriculture, ANNAM.AI. The app is designed for children to learn about plants, crops, food, and agriculture through surroundings, activities, and artificial intelligence tools.
AVNI App Features
The AVNI app includes daily challenges, a digital Nature Book, a Nature Gallery, and a Crop Compare feature. These tools allow children to record observations, compare plants, and explore crop-related learning in a structured format.
Language, Access, and Design
The app is available in Hindi and English. It includes audio content for younger children and follows a child-centric design. The platform is free, ad-free, and privacy-focused.
Institutional and Development Details
Dr. Mukesh Saini, Co-project Director of ANNAM.AI at IIT Ropar, developed the AVNI app. ANNAM.AI is the Centre of Excellence in AI for Digital Agriculture at IIT Ropar.
