ICC Announces ODI World Cup 2027 Schedule

The International Cricket Council announced the schedule for the ICC Men’s ODI Cricket World Cup 2027 on 1 October 2026. The tournament will be held from 2 October to 21 November 2027 and will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.

Tournament Format

The 2027 edition will feature 14 teams and 57 matches across 12 venues. South Africa will host eight venues, Zimbabwe will host three venues, and Namibia will host one venue. South Africa and Zimbabwe qualified automatically as hosts, along with the top eight teams in the ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings as of 30 September 2026.

Opening Phase and Group Stage

The tournament will begin with a three-team Super Series in Windhoek, Namibia, on 2 October 2027. This phase will decide the final qualifier for the group stage. The main group stage will start on 7 October 2027, and India will play defending champions Australia in Cape Town on the opening day of the group stage.

Knockout Matches and Final

The India-Pakistan match is scheduled for 10 October 2027 in Johannesburg. The semi-finals will be played on 17 November in Cape Town and on 18 November in Tshwane, also known as Centurion. The final will be held on 21 November 2027 in Johannesburg.
