12th International Coffee Day Celebrated
International Coffee Day is observed on 1 October every year, and the 12th edition falls on 1 October 2026. The United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution A/RES/80/248 on 10 March 2026 and formally designated 1 October as International Coffee Day.

International Coffee Day is a global observance linked to coffee production, trade, consumption, and the people involved in the coffee value chain. The 2026 observance is the first International Coffee Day with official United Nations status.
UN Resolution and Voting
Resolution A/RES/80/248 was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 March 2026. During the vote, the United States voted against the resolution and Canada abstained.
2026 Theme and Events
The FAO Liaison Office in Geneva will host the 2026 celebration in collaboration with the Permanent Missions of Indonesia, Rwanda, and Türkiye. The theme for the Geneva event is “Celebrating Coffee, Honouring the People Behind Every Cup”.
