Hyderabad to Host BRICS Anti-Corruption Meetings on 4-5 August
Hyderabad will host the second meeting of the BRICS Anti-Corruption Working Group and the second meeting of the BRICS Expert Network on Asset Recovery on 4 and 5 August 2026. The meetings are being organised by the Department of Personnel and Training under India’s BRICS Presidency for 2026.
BRICS Anti-Corruption Working Group
The BRICS Anti-Corruption Working Group is a forum of the BRICS grouping that deals with cooperation on anti-corruption measures among member countries. BRICS currently has 11 member countries, and the Hyderabad meeting is expected to bring together about 40 delegates from these countries.
Asset Recovery and Cross-Border Corruption
The BRICS Expert Network on Asset Recovery focuses on tracing, freezing, confiscating, and returning illicit assets across jurisdictions. The Hyderabad meetings will discuss international cooperation for asset recovery, cross-border corruption, illicit financial flows, transparency, and accountability in governance.
Programme, Side Event and Administrative Arrangements
The meetings will be inaugurated by Rachna Shah, Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training. A special side event titled “Ethical Governance through Innovation and Tech-Driven Systems” is scheduled for 5 August 2026, with discussions on technology-enabled governance, digital public procurement, and citizen engagement.
