Chip maker Intel has launched ‘Ek Kadam Unnati Ki Aur’ in Telangana state. It is aimed at creation of a blueprint for State-sponsored rural India digital campaigns. The company will create a platform where different partners and stakeholders would contribute their expertise or services to the programme. It has set up the first Unnati centre in Mahboobnagar district of Telangana. Telangana is one of the 10 States where Intel plans to roll out the initiative.

According to a biannual Top500 list of supercomputers, China’s Tianhe-2 supercomputer has maintained its position as the world’s most powerful system for the 6th consecutive time. Tianhe-2 (or Milky Way 2) was developed by China’s National University of Defence Technology and deployed at the National Supercomputer Center in Guangzhou. Its performance is 33.86 petaflops per second (Pflop/s), .It has held the title since June 2013. The Chinese system is almost twice as fast as the next on the list, Titan of the US Department of Energy

The honour was conferred during the inaugural session of the Asia Leaders Meeting towards Implementation of the Sendai Framework for DRR in Asia.
5. India’s first mega silk cluster will come up in which Indian state?
India’s first mega silk cluster will come up at Belavadi, on the outskirts of Mysuru in Karnataka state. The silk cluster is a first of its kind initiative, aimed at creating state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities for silk weaving and processing in the region. Initially, the Government of India will contribute Rs. 30 crore towards the project and a special purpose vehicle (SPV) will be constituted for raising the remaining cost from stakeholders. The facility is expected to be completed in 2016.
