From 1st to 3rd December 2015, first international film festival for the persons with disabilities (IFFPD) will be held in New Delhi. The festival will be organized to recognise the spirit of the persons with disabilities. The film festival would be organized by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment along-with National Films Development Corporation (NFDC).

China launched Yaogan-28, a remote sensing satellite from Taiyuan launch site in Shanxi province. Long March-4B rocket carried the satellite into space. World Health Organisation (WHO) declared Sierra Leone as Ebola free on 7th November after 18 months of first reported case in the country. Sierra Leone recorded its first Ebola infection in May 2014. It is one of the three worst effected countries due to Ebola virus. The other two are Liberia and Guinea. On September 3, Liberia achieved Ebola-free status. Guinea is still reporting few new cases.

The ISRO was planning to launch satellite Aditya to study solar eclipses on continuous basis and also other aspects of the Sun. The satellite will carry as its payload an advanced solar coronagraph. Aditya’s launch date has been rescheduled to 2017-18, after the mission was upgraded from a single payload mission to a multiple payload mission.

Galaxies with an extreme large ‘radio size’ are called as giant radio galaxies. The galaxy is known by its scientific identification ‘J021659-44920’. The galaxy was discovered using the Giant Metre wave Radio Telescope (GMRT) located near Pune. The galaxy is located about 9 billion light years away and it emits powerful radio waves. The galaxy was caught in dying phase.
