Cleanmax, Nuvoco Plan 46.4 MW Hybrid Project in Rajasthan

Cleanmax Enviro Energy Solutions and Nuvoco Vistas Corporation announced a 46.4 MW wind-solar hybrid project at Bhikamkhore in Rajasthan on 29 September 2026. The project combines 20 MW of wind capacity, 26.4 MWp of solar capacity, and a 2-MWh Battery Energy Storage System.

Wind-Solar Hybrid Project

A wind-solar hybrid project combines wind power and solar power within one generation system. The Rajasthan project is designed to supply electricity through the State Transmission Utility Open Access network to Nuvoco under a group captive structure.

Battery Energy Storage System

A Battery Energy Storage System, or BESS, stores electricity for later use. The project includes a 2-MWh BESS, which is part of the hybrid configuration planned for the Bhikamkhore site.

Group Captive Structure and SPV

A group captive structure is a power procurement model in which consumers hold equity in a generation project. Nuvoco Vistas Corporation will acquire a 26% stake in Clean Max Ilgohp Private Limited, which is the special purpose vehicle for the project.

Important Facts for Exams

  • Rajasthan has large potential for both solar and wind power because of high solar radiation and suitable wind corridors.
  • Open access in the power sector allows eligible consumers to buy electricity from a generator using the transmission network.
  • Battery Energy Storage Systems are used to balance supply and demand in renewable energy projects.
  • Scope 1 emissions are direct emissions from owned or controlled sources, while Scope 2 emissions are indirect emissions from purchased electricity.

Renewable Energy and Emissions

The project is expected to generate about 100 million units of renewable electricity every year after commissioning. It is projected to avoid around 62,023 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually under Scope 2 and about 63,463 tonnes under Scope 1.

DIRE Agenda

Nuvoco Vistas Corporation links the project with its DIRE agenda, which stands for Digitalisation, Innovation and Renewables. DIRE is associated with climate action and renewable energy transition in industrial power use.
