Amit Shah Inaugurates 9th National Security Strategies Conference

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the two-day 9th National Security Strategies (NSS) Conference-2026 in New Delhi on 24 August 2026. The hybrid conference brought together more than 850 participants, including senior officers from the Intelligence Bureau, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and central and state police forces.

National Security Strategies Conference

The National Security Strategies Conference is an annual forum linked to internal security coordination in India. The 9th edition was held in hybrid mode, which combines physical and virtual participation, and it covered counter-terrorism, cybercrime, narcotics control, and information warfare.

Internal Security and Border Management

Amit Shah directed security agencies to take strict measures against border infiltration. He also instructed state police chiefs to detect and deport illegal migrants, a task connected with immigration control, border policing, and internal security administration.

Technology, Investigation and Counter-Terror Measures

The Home Minister asked agencies to use artificial intelligence-based analysis on Multi-Agency Centre platforms to prepare Standard Operating Procedures for security threats. He also referred to the Ministry of Home Affairs’ PRAHAAR scheme, trial-in-absentia provisions for fugitive trials, and integrated investigative methods for cases under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Before the inauguration, Amit Shah paid homage at the Martyrs’ Column in New Delhi and laid a wreath for Intelligence Bureau personnel who died in the line of duty. The Martyrs’ Column is associated with official remembrance of security personnel in India.
