Ayush Verma Wins Shot Put Gold at Asian Para Games 2026

India’s Ayush Verma won the men’s shot put F53 gold medal at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games on 21 October 2026. He recorded a best throw of 8.16 metres. The Games are being held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from 18 to 24 October 2026.

Para-athletics and F53 Classification

Para-athletics includes track and field events for athletes with eligible impairments. In athletics classifications, “T” refers to track events and “F” refers to field events. The 2026 edition is taking place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Verma, born on 15 July 1991, began competitive para-athletics in 2020 and specialises in F53 shot put under coach Robin Kumar.

Iran’s Alireza Hemami won silver with a throw of 8.09 metres, while Kazakhstan’s Makhambet Serikkaliyev took bronze with 6.81 metres. Verma’s gold was his second medal at the Games; he had won bronze in the men’s javelin F53/54 event on 20 October.
