31st Divya Kala Mela Inaugurated in Kolkata
The 31st Divya Kala Mela was inaugurated on 14 July 2026 at Ravindra Sadan in Kolkata. Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar inaugurated the eight-day event, which will continue till 22 July 2026.
Divya Kala Mela Initiative
Divya Kala Mela is an initiative linked with the promotion of products made by persons with disabilities, also called Divyang entrepreneurs. The initiative was conceived in December 2022 and has been organised in several Indian cities, including Srinagar, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati, Ahmedabad and Patna.
Organisation and Participation
This edition is the first Divya Kala Mela jointly organised by the Centre and the West Bengal government. Around 40 stalls have been set up at the venue, with a large share of participants from West Bengal.

The Mela is associated with self-reliance, dignity, economic empowerment and social inclusion for persons with disabilities. It is linked to the broader framework of disability welfare and livelihood support for Divyang entrepreneurs.
