Visit India Year 2023 Campaign

The revenue from the tourism industry was 250 billion USD in 2018. Due to the COVID pandemic, the tourism industry suffered huge losses. The revenue fell to 122 billion USD in 2020 due to the pandemic. India has huge tourism potential because of its varied topography and beautiful landscapes. It is expected that Indian tourism will grow to 512 billion USD by 2028. To revive the tourism industry and increase inbound travel, the tourism ministry launched the Visit India Year 2023 campaign.

About Visit India Year 2023 Campaign

The campaign will showcase the Indian Tourism potential to the foreign delegates who will attend the G-20 meeting. In 2023, India is hosting the G-20 summit. The G-20 countries contribute to 85% of the world’s GDP. Therefore, targeting them will help India boost its revenue from tourism.

What is the plan?

The campaign will be launched for the G-20 officials, business delegates, and government representatives and for other members attending the summit. During the campaign, the tourism ministry will showcase the major travel destinations in the country. More than 200 meetings are to be held in 55 locations during the G-20 summit. And one lakh foreign delegates are to participate. This is a good opportunity for India to showcase its tourism potential.

Objective the campaign

The campaign will showcase the monuments, festivals, tourist destinations, culture, etc. The aim is to make each foreign delegate a cultural ambassador of India when he returns home after the G-20 summit.
