Tamil Nadu Launches Nalam TN Public Service Portal

Tamil Nadu launched the Nalam TN integrated digital platform in Chennai on 14 July 2026. The portal was introduced by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu at Presidency College, Chennai, under the State Health and Family Welfare Department.

The Nalam TN portal is a single digital interface for government healthcare services in Tamil Nadu. It is designed to bring multiple health-related services under one platform for patients, hospitals, and public institutions. The portal includes a monitored system for direct contributions to government hospitals by individuals and organisations.

Digital Health Services in Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu has used digital tools in public healthcare through NalamAI, a WhatsApp-based chatbot launched in July 2026. NalamAI is used for outpatient appointment bookings and is available in several districts of the State. The Nalam TN portal adds another layer to the State’s digital healthcare framework.

Healthcare Infrastructure and Recruitment

Along with the portal launch, healthcare projects worth ₹139 crore were inaugurated across government medical college hospitals, district hospitals, and primary health centres in Tamil Nadu. Appointment orders were also issued to 751 Assistant Medical Officers and 1,393 Health Inspectors selected through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission.
