Rajasthan Adds Three New Districts

In preparation for the upcoming Assembly elections, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced the establishment of three new districts in the state: Malpura, Sujangarh, and Kuchaman City. This decision has been made in response to public demand and the recommendations of a high-level committee. With the addition of these districts, Rajasthan now boasts a total of 53 districts.

Responding to Public Demand and Committee Recommendations

The decision to create these new districts is driven by the desire to address the needs and requests of the state’s citizens. It also aligns with the recommendations of a high-level committee tasked with evaluating the necessity for district expansion.

Expanding Administrative Boundaries

The addition of these new districts is expected to enhance governance and make governmental services more accessible to local residents. Previously, many individuals had to travel long distances to reach district headquarters for various purposes.

A Second Round of District Expansion

This marks the second occasion during Chief Minister Gehlot’s tenure that the number of districts in Rajasthan has been increased. In August of the same year, the state government announced the creation of 17 new districts and a restructuring of two major urban districts—Jaipur and Jodhpur. Additionally, three new divisions were established.
